Falcons_own_nfc_south
FLOWERY BRANCH–Falcons coach Mike Smith said today he expects starting safety William Moore will miss Sunday’s regular-season finale against Tampa Bay because of a hamstring injury.Moore missed the previous three games with the injury. Smith said Moore hasn’t been medically cleared to play.“I would like for William to be ready to go but the doctors have got to make that determination,” Smith said. “We’re to a point in the process that we need to get him as healthy as can be. I would say that he’s not going to play in the game this week. That would be our take on it.”The Falcons have a bye next week before opening the playoffs on Jan. 12 or 13.Falcons players who sat out practice today in addition to Moore were wide receiver Roddy White (knee), cornerback Christopher Owens (hamstring) and defensive end Cliff Matthews (hamstring).White was on the injury report before the past two games but started both. Owens left Sunday’s game at Detroit with his injury. Matthews did not play against the Lions.Falcons defensive tackles Jonathan Babineaux (ribs) and Corey Peters (knee) participated in practice on a limited basis. Both Babineaux and Peters played against the Lions. As long as he's on sideline and doing something.. I'll be more confident... let's hope that WAR in the playoff... He hurt himself on the last play of the Saints game which wouldn't have happened if somebody didn't go offside on the previous play.

Bill Brasky
I think it was on the last int he had on Brees during the TNF gameI wondered if that was it. I watched the replay and he seemed to get up and walk away fine, but he was moving kinda slowly. Figured it was because he just took a tumble at full speed while catching a football. Aftermath
We need to draft a backup safety next year, one that is capable of playing FS and SS and can play around 4 games a season because that seems to be how much he will miss every year. Rai
Not surprised really. Your typical hamstring injury usually takes 3 weeks to heal, they're just keeping him healthy for the playoffs. No point making it worse in a meaningless game.
