4dabirds
I've never doubted the JJ trade. He's got that beastly build like he is a character from Avatar.

dmite
Very much worth it to go get JJ with the new rookie pay scale implemented to give the SB a good shot inside TG's window.
Rajhae Battle
I think the Falcons did what they felt like they needed to do in order to get a top shelf offensive threat. The goal is to have Matt Ryan lead this team for at least a decade & they needed an offensive threat to compliment Roddy now, & take over once Roddy's time is done. It's not something you just do & I believe if you see that same type of "franchise" ability on defense you make a similar trade to get him also. The Falcons right now are not getting top 5 draft picks, so giving up a first round 20 something pick for a playmaker that dominates his position for the next 7-10 years is well worth the price
DixieTwister
Shhh! Don't wake these bottom feeders. They might bring the Ryan haters back as well! Been awful nice not to see those posts!
Exp
JJ was too good to pass up. Big, strong, fast, good character and work ethic; he has it all. His impact on the team is obvious and he makes our offense much more dynamic. Here is a better question to ask... Did the Browns win the trade? Mid-Nite-Toker
The trade was made to put the Falcons over the top...replacing a player(MJ12) who did not fail in the 2010 p/o.They had solid seasons before him and with him...losing p/o games w/o and with him.The Falcons need to get to the SB this year or next to justify IMHO...I'll settle for a NFC championship game and a solid performance from theteam. Guest Negatorris
As soon as he drops a TD pass or something, there will be a thread about how bad the trade was.

Psychic Gibbon
I'm still of the opinion that the Browns got short balled on that trade. Considering how far we jumped up you'd think we would have to give up an entire draft to do it, but that didn't happen.

Good if we can win the SB before Julio's extension. Bad if we cannot.

He made the trade because he thought the team didn't have any glaring needs and he saw a chance to grab an elite talent. You're right though. It was a move of desperation. Still might pay off. But AJ Green and Julio were two of the most NFL ready players I've seen in a long time, the trade makes sense if you're looking for an immediate impact player. The players the Browns got with our picks made the trade easier to swallow, that's for sure.
