Peyton
I wouldn't be at all surprised if the Falcons lose this game. Detroit's 4-10 but they are plenty talented, and it's a prime time game, and they are due to play a good game and also for some better luck. octoslash
It's not even close to a must-win, but if the Falcons can do so, they will basically insure that they won't have to beat both Green Bay and San Francisco in the playoffs, so it's very important to lock down the #1. I'd sure as heck rather play the Redskins or Hawks in the first round than either of those two.
falken
To quote Mud Duck.......'There's no mentum like momentum'.I hate call it a must win.....but it would be huge to keep momentum.
MSalmon
Not sure Smitty will give them too much rest... they tend to come out flat after bye weeks and time off.... They need to be mentally and physically ready the three game winning streak like they were Sunday! Then its... a playoff win, NFCCG win and a Superbowl Victory!Yup I agree. I bet in some ways he doesn't want a bye lol all though it'd be nice to have a bye to get Willymo back

Da_Truth
We just need to make sure we go up to Detroit...beat them down from the get-go and give them no possibility of hope. Let Roddy and Julio abuse Crisp Houston for old time sake. We better shut down Calvin so he doesn't break Jerry Rice's season yardage record during our game. Pickoffs for everyone (Asante, Decoud, McClain, Robinson) against Stafford!

falcons007
Rest Starters against Detriot, they play dirty and have no regrets kicking and hurting players after the play is over.

That is kind of what I expect to see from the Lions, but I hope I'm wrong.

falcons007
Can't do that until we get a lock on HFA.Rather play Bucs and win that game. Falcons have one week bye in between Bucs and the play off game. If the Falcons win against DET and rest against Bucs it will be 2 weeks break. Mega Flare
I just think we looked past Carolina and they played it like it was their Superbowl.Based on how their fans chirped after the game, it was. On the way out of the stadium, I thought I'd walked right into a Superbowl parade, until I, and they, realized they were still a 4-win team. Fun times. Butudontseeme™
Far from must win. I expect our guys to try a few new things against the lions to get some in game practice without getting too much on film. Should be interesting. Still don't like it bein on Saturday night though. Butudontseeme™
Just like what the Cardinals did a week after the biggest embarrasment of a game in recent memory.Just like true Atlanta falcons did a week after getting pounded by the Carolina panthers. Just sayin.
falcons007
....and risk losing both? That doesn't make sense. The Bucs game will be must win game like a playoff game. The momentum is overrated unless teams have to go through must win games. Look at Giants, packers they had 2 or 3 must win games in regular season to make it to playoffs and then carried that momentum to SB.

J-Wall
We have to win only 1 game to lock down the #1 seed. I believe we will do that this Saturday. And for the Bucs game I say play it like our 3rd pre season game. Let all starters play into the 3rd quarter. (Isn't this just a good problem to have)
Dominique is Manufique
Why do so many people spell it "rowdy"? Is it a auto correct thing?
