I'm not saying that's all he is spending money on because I'm sure he's blowing it on other stuff as well, if he aint then she is. Once again I never implied that the man is broke but I wouldn't be shocked if he doesn't have anything close to that 10 million.

Truthfully, that sounds like you are hoping (or gloating) that he is or could/will be broke. I understand the disappointment that he didn't play vs the Giants last year, but it isn't like we are talking about Roman Harper or someone like that here.

They may be "knock offs", but they probably came from the same factory that the official ones will. Also, I checked Grimes twitter (which is where I assume you got the info on him buying shoes not released yet) and he was retweeting an Eric Weems tweet where Weems got the shoes not available until December. https://twitter.com/...com/s/251742403 If you notice in Weems tweet the shoes are in a plain black box. Seems odd for an official shoe to come in such a plain box. Early or not. Either way we can all rest easy knowing he has that money still in his pocket.

I felt like we shouldn't have franchised him. I feel like he is a good corner but size is a key entity in the nfl. I don't like him consistently being on the outside against dudes like Fitz, Johnson, etc. He just gets out jumped and muscled around.

I'd rather get rid of Robinson and keep Grimes. Samuel and Grimes game 'mesh' better. They are both ball hawking cover corners. Our secondary would be absolutely loaded with play making ability. Samuel, Grimes, Decoud, Moore. The only way we should keep Robinson is if he signs a completely new contract with us. We cannot pay him 10 mil. We need Grimes and Drob back @ 10 mil combined maybe.

I see us keeping Drob and him signing for less but i think Grimes will go looking for money because a lot of teams will want to take a risk on him.

And i want Dunta back more than Grimes, sure Grimes was great but he hasn't been able to stay healthy in a while and I don't want us to give him a contract with the risk he will never be the same.

Hey, I had lunch with a co-worker yesterday. I also decorate my home. Clearly, this indicates that I would never accept a job offer in another state for millions of more dollars than I'm making now.

Anyway, back to the much more meaningful shoe/sea cow discussion...

I usually try to respect others opinions and not demean one's intelligence, but if you don't think Grimes was "that" good, and you think Dunta is better, then you have a mental problem that seriously needs to be dealt with.

Grimes at his worst is twice the corner Dunta is. Dunta is always lagging behind receivers deep, and on curls and outs always standing behind the receiver just watching them catch the ball. Dunta couldn't defend a slant to save his life.

I'm actually grateful to have Dunta, because he is somehow better than Franks and Owens... but to keep Dunta over a healthy Grimes would just be insane. The only reason I see just to get rid of Grimes is if he can't recover from his injury.

Wherever he goes it will be on a less expensive short term contract. He is going to have to prove to his next team--whether it be us or someone else--that he can still play at a high level.

Unfortunately for him, even if he is completely recovered by next year, he will be 30 in July with speed and athleticism as his main assets. Unfortunately for him, those are the first to go, and as they decline, his lack of height will be exponentially exposed.

With that said, if he (and his wife) are willing to do that short term cheaper contract, I'd do it. You never can have enough CBs in this increasingly passing league (for teams not named the Jets, Cardinals, and Chiefs sadly), and if he can play well, he'd be better than the very average Dunta Robinson.

Whatever the case, McClain (and even Owens) sure have risen up, so I'd be comfortable if Grimes does move on elsewhere.

With the way he played [barely interceptions....with at least 5 being throw right to him he could not pull in), a new falcons fan would have no idea who Grimes was in 2011.

So if I an three only one to believe what I typed.....then I might be the only person who watches football.

Grimes had 2 good seasons. Nothing more. And he only made pro bowl cause of his interceptions.....out was even said so when he went.

The year that Grimes led the team in picks and made the pro bowl, he was the most targeted corner in the nfl that year. He was opportunistic, but his coverage skills were average.

BS dude. Being targeted a lot doesn't prove anything except for your team is always ahead and you are playing on the strong side.

I don't think Grimes will come back cheap... I think he will go get a payday, and with all of the teams out there that need db help I can't blame him.

I will respect him for going and getting a big contract near the end of his career with all the injuries he has gotten... I just hope it isn't us who give him the big contract.
