Aftermath
I wouldn't mind resigning him on the cheap as long as we resigned McClain as well and kept him in the mix, but that would mean getting rid of DR. Going forward with AS, BG and DR as our top 3 may sound like a dream come true but we have got to have some youth at the position. With our top 3 CBs being over 30 we would be setting ourselves up for a huge let down sometime in the near future. You don't want to put yourself in a position where your top 3 guys all decline at the same time. Got to have some youth at the position for the future and the way that McClain has been playing dude had better be a Falcon come 2013. DrunkOffFalcohol
We should offer him a back loaded contract. Its better for the salary cap as of now. 3 years for 7 million sounds great to me.

TheFatboi
I'd really like him to get healthy and sign a one year deal with the Falcons again next year. I mean, if Nolan can do what he is doing with Owens, McClain, and Robinson, I'd love to see what he could do with Grimes added to the mix. We'd have the best core of cb's in the league for sure. That could scare some teams.
TheFatboi
I don't the Brent is greedy like that. He loves the team and the city and he wants championships. I think he'd negotiate a decent contract with the team to stay. He doesn't strike me as an "all about the money" type guy, especially the road he traveled. Plus he still has a few good years left in him. Champ is an athletic guy and he's still playing at an elite level. Brent hasn't had that much wear and tear on his body because he wasn't an elite corner coming from a big time program.

cooperbh
I've seen pictures of him and D-Rob shopping together. Also his wife is completely redesigning his man cave. Not to mention he wears falcons apperral daily and even love his team mates. I just dont seem him relocating and starting over this late in his career. I believe he will take less money.Unfollowing Adam Schefter as we speak. Can I get a link to your Twitter account?
Numbaz
Its a win/win situation if he stays or leaves. I'd rather the guy stay to be honest though. He's earned a spot with the squad. We are good in secondary right now but with him we could be great. I love greatness

TheFatboi
The Mclain kid is 24. Grimes is outta here. That's why you keep the core of db's we have. I'm a year or two him and owens will probably be outside. For now if you add Brent back in the mix nobody will want to throw on us. Teams like the pack and saints that like 4 and 5 wr sets? Where do you throw it now? Asante, Brent, Dunta, McClain, Owens, Willie Mo, Decoud. That's a h3ll of a secondary. We need to try and keep it for another year or two. It just doesn't make any sense to try and resign an aging corner who's skills may have diminished because of injury. Likely he and his wife will be looking for stability, so you can throw a 1 year deal out the window. Dude really screwed himself this offseason. Its one thing to be unhappy about being tagged, its another to hold out of camp.He had one outstanding season and one really good season. With MVP Nolan on our side with his ability to transform anybody into a playmaker, it might be time to move on from Grimes.

Are you implying that Grimes tore his achilles in September because he wasn't around for 3 days of off season workouts?C'mon, give me a break. Dude bought a pair of retro Jordans that don't come out til Christmas a few months back. You already know that's a few stacks alone. No telling what else he has blown his money on. I know that she did some remodeling to the house after he signed the deal. I'm willing to bet that he has nowhere near the 10 million left

He's a freak talent wise. That just doesn't go over night but because he was hurt the falcons have more bargaining leverage. I'm sure if we let him walk he'd end up with the saints or panthers. Keep him if the price is right and continue to be a force on the back end.

Are you implying that Grimes tore his achilles in September because he wasn't around for 3 days of off season workouts?C'mon, give me a break. No, you give me a break. He and his wife strutted around this offseason as if he were an all pro when he's only had one truly incredible year. Let's be real, the Falcons are solely responsible for giving this guy a shot or else he could be in the CFL somewhere. I understand he has a family to raise but when you and your wife hassle the organization for two offseasons in a row, it could begin to take a toll. I wasn't correlating his injury to him holding out, I was just saying him holding out was very diva-ish to begin with and that it'll be hard to find a place for a guy who's coming off two consecutive season ending injuries. Like I said getting those type of shoes months ahead of time will run you a few good stacks. Remodeling when you have that type of money is a 5 to 6 figure payment. Throw in the doc bills and as I said no telling what else he has blown his money on. Never implied that he was broke.

Tandy Gossett
I know this is going to sound strange and may rub some people the wrong way.I'm a huge OptimusGrimes Fan myself but we have to look at this another way.Was Grimes really that good? Was he just out playing his coaching? Would we be as dominant on Defense this season w/ him?I wish we could have atleast had him through the Denver game so we could tell.If Grimes still has it after his injury how much better would we be with him? or without him? I don't think you understand what I said. I said some that don't come out til Christmas. You have to pay good money to get those months ahead of time. I'm not saying that's all he is spending money on because I'm sure he's blowing it on other stuff as well, if he aint then she is. Once again I never implied that the man is broke but I wouldn't be shocked if he doesn't have anything close to that 10 million.
