isproab
Grimes should be wearing Falcons gear because he is still a Falcon. I say for 2013 Grimes is gone. You have a 31 year old Robinson and a 32 year old Asante next year. Glad we have McClain at this point and Owens has been good this year when called on. Franks has not been anything of note in the defensive backfied and his return ability sucks.I say draft a young CB in the 3rd or 4th round. Somebody that has a chance to be a #1, #2 or #3 a few seasons down the road. If McClain turns out to be a good number 2 down the road, great, but who knows. I just know you have aging guys at CB along with our primary pass rusher. We have to fix thoses spots or we will continue to have defensive problems. When I think of the 2013 draft / offseason, I'm thinking right now at this moment RB in round 1, DE/ rush OLB in round 2 and CB in round 3. I'll even come back and do DE/rush OLB in round 4. People were yelling about Guard and OL. We've spent so many picks on the O line over recent years. I say look to free agency for a Guard and TE. Bottom line, Grimes is on his way out in my book. Just an opinion but this makes sense to me. Why waste a roster spot on a CB at age 30 attempting to come back from an achilles who may be what, #3 or #4 at the CB spot? I would rather have a young guy to groom that I know will not have to go into the season higher than 5 barring injury.
youngbloodz
some you wouldn't have pissed on them or would have. Point is, they are teammates at the same position. I can honestly see them along with the safeties chillin together. Like Julio. Roddy and hd. It's normal. Just like you have players that are friends with other players around the league that play the same position. That's just how it istrue I agree with that. You do tend to hang around people that play the same position as you. Also are you ya boi g on the IC?
fansince78
You guys know that I never thought very highly of Grimes, but I am not sure I would want the Falcons to take the risk with him considering his injury even if he had been the cover corner some of you think he was. Guest Fibonacci/Mashburn
I am pretty sure you are literally the only person in the world who believes what you just typed. go watch the 2011 season and get back to me.With the way he played [barely interceptions....with at least 5 being throw right to him he could not pull in), a new falcons fan would have no idea who Grimes was in 2011. So if I an three only one to believe what I typed.....then I might be the only person who watches football.Grimes had 2 good seasons. Nothing more. And he only made pro bowl cause of his interceptions.....out was even said so when he went.
Andre5000
I'd rather resign McClain than resign Grimes.. Ditto. He can handle the bigger receivers

He has hops though.
Dirtybird56
Dunta is a lot better then Grimes plus he still stays healthy.Grimes is only good in zone.Plus Dunta knows how to stay healthyYou let your emotions control you girl Dunta better haa
Karst41
At this late stage of is career, Grimes has to take the largest Contract that he can get.Even if it's with Buffalo.
FalconFanForLife
Well I don't know what they will do regarding Grimes, but I will be on pins and needles awaiting the outcome. I am still surprised how well our secondary played after he went down. I can only imagine how much more awesome we would have been with a healthy Grimes all season long. Trufant Island
I would take Brent for cheap but the guy needs to stay healthyin Grimes defense, it was kinda a freak injury
atljbo
I cant lie.. Right now i would be shocked if Grimes wasnt back... Coming from a ACL injury... The contract will most likely be a 1 year 3 mil deal (similar to what peyton said) ....Dunta Robinson has improved under coach Nolan scheme but it aint a question who i would want between he and Grimes... Grimes is a top tier CB while healthy.... With Dunta due 10.5 mil on the cap (8 mil base salary) .We havnt drafted good CB's so i feel like signing the young CB that the team thinks can be a good #2 CB Robert McClain ... But i would be SHOCKED if Grimes isnt back... I think he loves this team and i do think the FO loves him.. They just had to be smart about the cap/furture cap... The only way i can see Grimes not coming back is if his injury was really bad or that some team out of no where offer him a good size contract coming off an injury (which doesnt happen) .Also Falcons fans.... Players have bad games and Players get injured... Lets not act like a guy is not as good as he is just because he got injured.... Come on now... Grimes is a **** good CB... A top tier CB
*NiteFalcon*
I'm perfectly fine if he walks. He will want too much 4 sure. Let Nolan decide if he's expendable
jamnesiac34
I've seen pictures of him and D-Rob shopping together. Also his wife is completely redesigning his man cave. Not to mention he wears falcons apperral daily and even love his team mates. I just dont seem him relocating and starting over this late in his career. I believe he will take less money.I'll call you the king of wishful thinking. I doubt that any of those things come into play when it's time time to sign a contract. He's coming off a major injury and he's approaching 30. A little dose of realty...he's going to whichever team pays him the most cash. Period. He may choose to stay in the ATL permanently. I could understand that.

fansince78
Everyone wanted to focus on the playoffs before the season. Against some of the best quarterbacks in the NFL, Grimes size (I know the dude has heart) is quite a disadvantage. Receivers are not getting shorter or smaller. His injury is also a concern because while there are many players who overcome that injury, it does not always work out that way. He may be top tier if you measure a player by heart alone, but we need someone who can match up against the receivers and against the quarterbacks they will have to cover in the big games. hammerhead
The Falcons are in a good position . Grimes is not in any position to be asking for a lot .i just don't see him coming back as a falcon. the guys we have back their now are balling and doing a jam up job .i feel the falcons could use the funds of his contract to sign a true need and that would be a lineman on either Side of the ball . 4dabirds
Grimes has a big injury to come back from, and a contract situation that is not in his favor right now. It's going to be up to the F.O. if he is to resign. I see the team resigning him to a 1 year deal and using him in a trade situation. I personally would like him back, we need all the ball hawks we can get, but we also need to get younger and better on other parts of the D. Peyton
I'd really like him to get healthy and sign a one year deal with the Falcons again next year. I mean, if Nolan can do what he is doing with Owens, McClain, and Robinson, I'd love to see what he could do with Grimes added to the mix. stumpjumper
Healthy, he was top 5...however, isn't this is his 2nd time hurting his knee? Any idea if it's the same knee too?
DrunkOffFalcohol
Shopping together means absolutely nothing. They are currently teammates, what else would you expectThats not the only thing that i pointed out. I was just saying that he has an off field relationship with his team mates which is important. A lot of players dont have those types of relationships with their team mates.
