I appreciate it because I was recalling from memory and not from reading any articles.

Because he was right. After the Packers lost to the Buccaneers in 2009 people started calling for McCarthy's head and the Packers team president put McCarthy and GM Ted Thompson on notice.

He wasn't on the hot seat then nor was he on the hot seat which was his main point when Favre left. Once again, you completely overlook the main point.

I have been saying for years to anyone that would listen how bad Todd McClure was.......response I would get back: "McClure is a wily vet, blah, blah, blah". The dude is weak. Falcons paid Blalock $6 million/yr and for what? he is just an OK player but we are paying him like he's elite. I was excited about the Konz pick but he is not a guard and he needs to get much stronger.

The LOS is a man's game and you need to be rough-n-tumble to get the job done. We don't have what it takes to win the inside game and we get pushed back in run game - most team's o-lines consider a play good when they are knocking the defensive line into the linebackers. Falcons consider it a win if they don't get knocked back into the backfield - its a joke.

If the O-line could handle the line of scrimmage better... running or passing the ball would function way smoother. I never mean to insult, but I have trouble understanding how so many people are blind to this. The LOS gets dominated by any opponent that has a descent D-line.

On most running plays there is rarely a hole opened, and even worse the line get stood up or shoved back. On passing plays (if Ryan doesn't throw quick) he usually gets smacked in the mouth. I'm NOT making this **** up people. Watch the **** game closer I guess.

People want Quizz now and I can't blame them, but his shiftiness is the only way he survives that mess. I wish I had the time to edit and show everyone each crappy run attempt. All 3 backs get hit for losses, and even Quizz (when he makes his own lane) fights off way too many tacklers. Turner wouldn't even be an issue if we had a power line to help a power back. Turner was never paid to make anyone miss... he's just a big guy with decent speed for his size. Now he may have lost a step, but he's still a pain in the *** to tackle.

FIX THE ******* LINE! Regardless of who runs the ball... stop letting so many people through... so many times. I need to make this my new signature, so I don't have to explain anymore.

Falcons really should have gone after Carl Nicks......he would have made a difference. Oh well, hindsight is always 20/20 but the proof was in pudding last year that the interior O-Line was a problem.

No doubt Nicks would have made a difference, but $9.5 million a year worth of difference? That's pass rusher/CB money.

hear ya, but we are so deficient in the interior offensive line that is kills our entire offense. Falcons need an elite player inside - honest to God - on Falcons team, that $9mil/yr would be money well-spent if Nicks played up to his past performance.

Like many things, it comes back to the Julio trade and not being able to fix OG in a cost effective manner.

Nicks would have been nice for the future. But right now he is injured and out for the year. He wouldn't have done much good heading into the playoffs. We already have one player making 10 million out for the year.

I think Grubbs would have been a much better option personally. Either way we need to plug this hole. The Falcons can only bail water for so long before the ship sinks. TD needs to quit worrying about finding small school gems, and just find the Falcons some stud diamonds.

I agree the Julio trade has come home to roost this year. But who is to say TD wouldn't have grabbed more Hawleys or Mike Johnsons with those picks. Sprinkle in another Chris Owens and Franks and we have a complete TD draft.

What are you talking about? Are you mentally disabled?

I said specifically in a post that McCarthy was about to get fired prior to the 2010 season. Fans were calling him and the GMs head and the owner had a "talk" with them at the end of the 2009 season. The whole basis of his firing was because the team was underachieving in many people's eyes. So what are you missing good sir?

Chris Owens is in year 3 or 4 and playing well. Well what do you know.....he progressed. Go figure. I didn't know that players could get better in the NFL. I thought if they didnt start out good, then they would never be good.

Him showing up and being remotely close to his WR is an improvement. It doesn't take much to improve from the horrendous showing he put forth in his first few years.

He has made some plays, but I am not about to call his play good. Serviceable at the very best.

You said before Rodgers which wasn't the case. Of course you go to personal attacks when you have been proven wrong.

It wasn't personal attack. It was a question. A personal attack would be that you def are mentally ******** but thats neither here nor there. I said before Rodgers came along, meaning hit his stride and officially became elite.

Like the term "coming along" means to get better. I can understand how you read it otherwise, but you were wrong. I did clarify this by mentioning in a later post "before/prior to the 2010 season"
