Mega Flare
The good thing is the we have a owner that wants to win and will even more motivated to put the best product on the field because he has a greater chance to get more revenue from his investment. Finally! Glad to have an owner like this.
Faithful Falcon
I get what we'll pay and the rest by hotel tax....but a billion on a "new" stadium? In today's economy? I think the billion could be well used in another area. You should ask Nathan Deal and every governor that we have ever had about this. 1 billion dollars is nothing compared to the state income tax. 4dabirds
Dude, let it go. You seem to be fairly intelligent. But you can't seem to accept that the product is directly related to revenue. So hopefully, in 2017, the product would've justified the new stadium. The product justifies the stadium deal right now. Blank is a business owner, and his fiscal goals are to make the most money that he can off of his investment. He has lived with a bad lease since he purchased a laughing stock team. He has methodically marketed and put together a great football organization and has waited for the time that the lease is up, so that his team can take the next step. You are making a statement that the team must be a juggernaut, and needs to be the very best in order to justify new facility. No team in the NFL has been held to that standard in order to get their new stadium deal, but you believe that that is exactly what the Falcons must do. You simply don't get it. PokerSteve
By the time we get a new stadium our team will be shlt once againIf it costs $200 per ticket and the team sucks, you'll have more bats hanging from the rafters than fans in the seats. 4dabirds
I'll make sure to periodically review this thread. McKay said himself that nothings wrong with the dome.He also said that the Falcons have no interest in renewing their lease with the GWCC. The GWCC is not going to give the Falcons operating rights to the Dome, even though the Falcons are the GWCC bread and butter tenant. That means that the Falcons would have to settle for a small portion of a large revenue PIRATED VIDEO IS ILLEGAL that they (the Falcons) have generated. Had you heard this?
FalconsAboveBoard
There are many things that this state/city could spend 1 billion dollars on.Signed,Theyhate meCosignedFalconKnight
foreverfalcon
So you think Arthur should spend HIS 700 million some other way? He is a successful investor, is he not? HIS $700 million is money spent on HIS investment, and has the state and the GWCC benefitting from HIS investment. You nor I will probably never give one dime to THIS new investment of Arthur's. If the state were paying this 1 billion dollars, then yes, I would say that there are many better uses for that money. Teachers and other deserving public servants would be who I'd take care of first. But that is not what any of this is about. This is a business venture designed to make the state, GWCC and the Falcons more revenue. Arthur is already a very charitable man along with being a business man. He is going to do what the Smith's never did, and that is make the Falcons a dynamic and and upper echelon team that is worth far more than HIS initial investment. Why fault the man for doing what you should do with an investment of this size?Freaking BRAVO!

Mega Flare
The GWCC will own the new facility....LOL.We're not talking about ownership. We're talking about operating rights. Big difference. The GWCC covers operating expenses for the Dome now, and it keeps a large part of the revenues. Under the new stadium deal, the Falcons would cover operating expenses, but they would keep all or most of the revenues from concessions and parking. In both cases, the GWCCA owns the building, but the point of all this is who controls how the building is run and gets how much of the revenues. It's a good deal for the Falcons much better than what they have now. As long as he keep a competitive team on the field, it'll work out. Faithful Falcon
Signed,Theyhate meCosignedFalconKnightSee Georgia's State Tax, and See the Georgia Lottery.$300 million from the Hotel Motel Tax. The rest from the Falcons. When you foot the bill, you can talk. Until then, just shut up.The Georgia Lottery has been around almost 20 years, and ask the city of Atlanta or the state of Georgia how much has been used the right way. A small percent to Pre-K, and small percent to HOPE. The rest is in someone's pockets.
Mega Flare
The Titans PSL price map posted earlier is what I expect here. I don't think Blank will risk charging more in this market. HeII, many of the STH's here bought in when Blank slashed prices in the early 2000's, and many people here are flat-out anti-tax and anti-anything-that-feels-like-a-tax. The real issues are:1) how much will the PSL's cost?2) when will they start charging for PSL's (possibly while we're still in the Dome)?3) what kinds of payment plans will be available?
