FalconsAboveBoard
Since Mike Smith has been the HC 28 teams have not won the Super Bowl which correct me if I'm wrong is the desired final result. 25 Teams haven't been to the Super Bowl at all. Of those years 2 of the teams that beat us went on to win the Super Bowl and one lost the Super Bowl. 14 teams haven't even been to the playoffs in the past 3 years. What is the difference if you do win in the playoffs but don't play and win in the Super Bowl? While I understand your premise and agree with it, I find the underlined quite illogical thinking . . . . taymattluke1221
First of all , you're definitely a relative of Mike Smith ... After the embarrassing loss last year in the playoffs to the Giants Mr. Blank apologize to all of us and then he fired both coordinators . After we get home field advan tage then we go 1 and done in the playoffs again Mike Smith's azz is GONE !!!!

Steel City Falcon
Yeah... 4 winning seasons in a row... Smith and Ryan suck.I agree Smith plays a little more conservative than we would like to see but with a winning percentage of over 70% and **** near 90% in the dome. I can't argue that he's a bad coach at all.

Big Rob 64
Ok. Let's start naming HCs that AFMB members wanted over Smitty: Singletary, Rex Ryan, Whisenhunt, etc etc. Where's this hidden belichick clone that is going unhired just waiting for Arthurs call.I said in another thread (jokingly) that we need to keep Nolan as DC, hire Andy Reid as OC. They can do the actual football coaching. The hire to inspire: PHIL JACKSON!!!And I'm only 97.8% joking. A small sliver of me would actually like to see him try it. The Zen Master Motivator!!! Karst41
If Koetter gets hired away from us at the end of the season, Reid wouldbe a very good hire as OC.But no matter who runs this offense we have two problems that will have tobe fixed.1. The Oline2. The Back Field. The 4 draft picks for Julio have come home to roost this year and next.Few people on the boards saw this coming. Was Julio worth it? Long term answer is yes. FalconFanForLife
Well guys I understand why so many of you are upset after that totally embarrassing loss. But as someone who suffered through so many of those terrible losing decades that some of you are willing to accept again in exchange for a post season win, I just have to tell ya to take your meds. IMHO Smitty's conservatism (as you put it) is not the issue at all. So many of you are ready to say "it's the same as last year, Smitty's conservatism is gonna kill us again." Well I am also getting nervous going into the playoffs because it DOES look like the same as last year. But what I see is teams with a very strong front four who can generate a pass rush are our Achilles heel, and that is because our O-line is just not strong enough to handle the top D-lines in the league. The Panther game looked eerily similar to the Giants game in the playoffs. The O-line can't protect Matt, and they can't open run lanes as an alternative. That is what I see as our issue, not Mike Smith. However, I do agree that we have to try some creative scheming to help the O-line. Run more no huddle, and what happened to the screen in that game??????????You cats that wanna get rid of Smitty are about as clueless as the ones who want to ditch Ryan.
