Oh4Real?!
It's good to see that some are ok with being paper champions . I can respect that . but why settle for mediocrity ? when you could have the Lombardi ! 16 - 0 doesn't mean squat if you don't win it all .and second place is the first looser . I bet Dan Marino would trade all of those paper championships for a Lombardi in a heart beat. The one number that counts and says who you are as a team is how many Super Bowls you have and until you can say you have one. the bragging and boasting about the regular Swanson e- relevant numbers mean squat .Agreed. The problem is people are fine with us just being what we are right now. Which is a good regular season team. They compare the past to now and just go with "Well, it could always be worse like the old days." No, how about we think BIGGER than just having a CUTE RECORD. Edited December 10, 2012 by Oh4Real?! DMT11
PLenty of blame needs to be put on TD - I think he is plenty good enough GM for us, but we are seeing problems that stem from lack of talent in the trenches, they know it, why did they sign Manui, draft line talent, but it isnt working out, most of this is personnel decisions he and Smitty made. - We have got some great talent at skill postitions but a weak foundation. hammerhead
It wasn't meaningless it was a game whether anyone believes it or not of importance for the next step to get HFA and a 1st round by . but it's ok with the coom by ya crowd we have this in the bag . we will beat the G men and the Bucs not a problem and if all fails we can pat ourselves ion the back and sing coom by ya together because we are the NFCS champs and we can settle for that . Bundini Brown
We got smacked by the panthers.. Of all teams. They had extra gas in the tank bcuz of the "get the F off our field" thing. But more so than ALL of that, it REALLY looked like the team jus didn't care. The D kept them to FG's early and matty put a few points up jus to keep the loss frm looking like a blowout, but I really feel like the team half-assed it. We have the Giants coming up, we'll see if you all will be singing the same tune next week.Let's not crucify smitty until we see what january has in store

Kilgore Trout
True, but fact is still a fact that Smith has been our best HC so far.I love Mike Smith and think it's stupid to want to get rid of him, but the above is not saying a whole lot. Kinda like being the skinniest kid at fat camp. Edited December 10, 2012 by Parabola

AtlantaFalconPokerPro
Got to win every game every week by 20+ to satisfy these girls. After all they are entitled, they are such good fans. I don't agree with getting rid of Ryan, but if Smitty doesn't change his mindset, or approach he has to go. Too many trends continue to blame anyone else.Like I've said numerous times, it's not because we lost yesterday, or didn't win by 20 points. The bitching is happening because we have played like **** for over a month. Does playing like **** magically go away with 3 weeks left in the season? Are any of you delusional homers gonna try and convince me otherwise? Outside of the first NO game, we have played horribly, with **** game plans over the past 5 weeks. Matt is timid because of the **** o-line we have. Turner looks like a cow on the way to a slaughter house. Wholio and Roddy are supposed to be the best tandem in the NFL yet they can't seem to beat double coverage when backups are the ones covering them. Our D looks like a bunch of circus clowns running around a football field when trying to stop the run. Then we have a coach with absolutely no killer instinct. Close games wear on a team after awhile. Half of the games we won should be been by 14 or more points, but our ultra conservative coach lets off the gas. You can ignore the issues all you want. You can call out people for their negativity, and tell them they aren't fans. You can play pretend all you want, and settle for a team that can only accomplish multiple winning seasons. I want, and expect more out of a team that I invest this much time and money into, especially when the potential is there. If Smitty goes one and done this year in the playoffs, TD better do what's right. AB, and the fans deserve more than winning seasons. That was passion, mother f***ers.

But excuse the fk out of me if I defend the winningest coach and QB in our history against idiots who think winning in the NFL is EZ. You can be miserable, cry, hate, scream, does not change a thing. Or you can enjoy the nice season we are having, and get behind the team. I still have faith in them, and I plan on enjoying the ride. If that makes me a zombie homer kool aid troll, then I will embrace it.

ukfalc
Coach Smith does a lot of things very well. However, he's so frightened of losing, that he refuses to take risks unless he really has to. We look like a team that is content to do enough to keep games tight, not take risks, take our chances in the 4th Qtr. That's why we start too slowly more often than not, and take our foot of the gas on the few occassions when we do start fast and get ahead. There is nothing wrong with fearing losing, but you have to channel that fear and use it as motivation to play hard and be agressive for 60 mins, rate than allowing it to stiffle your agression and make you play uptight as we do. LifetimeFalconFan
If you didn't know any better reading this board would suggest we haven't won a game this year, much less 11...everyone sucks apparently. I wasn't happy about our performance yesterday, and yes there are certainly things to improve on, but come on,

That is frankly a remarkable TD percentage on the first drive. About as far from being a slow starting team as you can be.

FalconinColorado
Two losses 15 weeks into an NFL season and people want everything turned upside down. Let the D get healthy. Let the O-Line work. If we beat the Giants things people might have some perspective. Gotta support your team. GOTTA SUPPORT YOUR TEAM!!! The NFL is tough. taymattluke1221
Mike Smith is most definitely not our greatest head coach ..... Dan Reeves took us to a Superbowl . Even Jerry Glanville has done something Mike Smith will never do. He actually won a playoff game . So don't keep bringing up Mike Smith as our greatest head coach !!! Numbaz
A lot of times Matt Ryan will do an audible for that Turner play. The one in single-back formation? But besides that, you have to keep the defense honest. This is a passing league now but you have to make the D atleast think you're going to run sometimes. It's not working but you have to give those LB's to think about so they don't cheat back in coverage every play. It took a few years for the Patriots to get the running game they have now but they kept forcing it and it's working to perfection for them. They're looking like they're going back to the Super Bowl and can't be stopped. Not only because of Brady but because of that running threat as well whether it's working or not. wleggett
Winning Play-off Percentage among ALL Active Coaches.1. Mike Smith .000Since Mike Smith has been the HC 28 teams have not won the Super Bowl which correct me if I'm wrong is the desired final result. 25 Teams haven't been to the Super Bowl at all. Of those years 2 of the teams that beat us went on to win the Super Bowl and one lost the Super Bowl. 14 teams haven't even been to the playoffs in the past 3 years. What is the difference if you do win in the playoffs but don't play and win in the Super Bowl?
