JG2008
Newton running 72 yards for a TD was the last strawWas our pathetic defensive "performance" today more due to:1) Nolan not putting together a good scheme ,game plan and play calling ?Or2) Nolan did what he's paid to do-- the players just didn't execute what Nolan's plan was? falconsb
I really think that because Chris Hope was subbed in for Willy Mo, Nolan had to kind of "simplify" the gameplan. Maybe to help chris owens too but that's the only reason I can think of right now.By the way this is my first ever post. Been reading for a long time and decided to finally join in. ltstorm2
In a nutshell, I think the problems that Carolina provided us, we won't see againt this year. That is unless we face Washington again. We struggled with their read option in the first game also.
Abrahamburger 2
Wish we could beat a mobile QB.Ah, just remembered Spoons hit on RG3.
falcons007
Do you know anything about football or you just create 100 threads here? The problem is very simple, they were reacting to the read option on almost every play wether to rush the passer or defend the run. The coverage was soft zones, Nolan is a attacking DC who can make Manning and Brees look silly. Luckily we won't see this type of offense may be except redskins. Sui_Generis
Lack of talent on d. Nolans schemes can only cover up so much. TD has essentially been putting a band aid on a broken leg since he has been here.
falcons007
Read OptionNewton running for 10 to 20 yards on this is one thingRunning for 72?Do U know anything? !!!He ran once doesn't mean they can forget about it. the DL and LB has to make sure they don't get burned by those plays. The Cam Newton TD was a good read by Newton when he saw Kroy and got Decoud ended up in the wrong gap to block Williams. Cam kept the ball and took off. DL and LB were playing back and reacting. If you play aggressively against QB who can run, you let them outside and that will be a TD. Watch the play SF ran against Miami with Kap, it was similar play when MIA was aggressive.
