falcons007
Wow, it didn't take too long for BVG to hit the market again. He was the problem with this defense not the execution. vel
Nope. It comes down to the players doing the right thing. The coach can't get out there and make the plays for them. If the players aren't executing, it will always look bad...

laynepink
Well he was fired from ATL last year.... Smitty and TD are too classy to have done it in public, but I guarantee they told him to look for a new job. Why else would anyone go from a NFL coordinator to a college coordinater. synaptic apoptosis
its irritating that a college team was able to see that he wasn't going to work after a year, while we wasted two years delaying the inevitable. MS is a smart guy, saved his job before its too late. Edited December 6, 2012 by falcons007

Falcanuck
It was Peters if my memory serves me right.Maybe I just like to blame Edwards for all the things that went wrong defensively for the Falcons? Some kind of psychological coping mechanism hahaha. Edited December 6, 2012 by Falcanuck

laynepink
BVG wasn't horrible (Zonatell comes to mind), but its clear that Nolan is much smarter and has a better grasp on schemes, gameplanning, and adjustments. With BVG I always dreaded teams coming out in the 3rd quarter and shredding us. Now with Nolan, I know he'll adjust.
