I hope he straightens his act out soon, he's such a talented player. Might be time to bring him back home to Columbus.

Georgia baseball player Kyle Carter, a former standout at Columbus High, was arrested early Sunday morning by the Athens Clarke County Police.

This was Carter's second arrest in the past four months.

He was booked into the Athens-Clarke County jail at 1:10 a.m. He was arrested for underage possession of alcohol and public intoxification, according to the Athens-Clarke County Jail log.

Both charges are misdemeanors and carry a bond of $500.

No other details about what led to the charges were immediately available from the ACCPD.

Georgia baseball coach David Perno is aware of the arrest.

"Coach Perno is aware of the situation with Kyle, and he's looking in to the matter. There is no further comment at this time." Georgia Associate Sports Communications Director for baseball Christopher Lakos said.

Georgia athletes face an automatic suspension of 10 percent of the regular season for alcohol-related offenses.

Carter was arrested in August on two charges, one felony and one misdemeanor. The felony was possession of a weapon in a school zone. The misdemeanor is simple assault.

UGA police said Carter threatened a women with a baseball bat in a dorm room.
