I Know Spoon Is Out This Week But

His ankle is probably okay to dance for a few seconds in a locker room but not play 4 quarters of a professional football game on a turf field. I took it as he's recovering pretty well and will be ready soon but not quite there. He wasn't dancing as much as he usually does at the end of the D-Block segments.

The front office is handling this just right IMO. When he went down, we were already 7-0 and thus in good play-off positioning. No sense at all in rushing him back and risking a worse injury (or even an aggravation of this one). We can afford a loss or two in the middle of the season, but we NEED Spoon healthy down the stretch.

Besides, Nolan is pretty d*mn good at scheming around injuries. The day Grimes went down, I would have bet everything I had against us starting 8-0. (Not a knock against the team; I just saw him as a key to the defense.) And we've already won one game without Spoon. I bet we pick up another today!

Spoon won't get injured dancing.

He will get injured trying to play today though. Spoon plays every snap when he starts. Don't want to rush him back and then he gets hurt again. We need him for the playoffs.

Spoon is ready but we know Smitty rests players longer than needed to be completely sure. We can win without Spoon. To be honest, Spoon has been a little iffy this season anyway. Nobody on here wants to criticize Spoon, but Nic has been out playing him. Yes, Dent isn't Spoon, but Spoon needs to get back to 100% and hungry again.
