Tuggle'2
That would be interesting. I haven't heard anything about it. I saw some people talking about Quitrino going to Kentucky but I doubt that happens.
jbird84
Man I hope not! I really hope we lock down Nolan and Koetter they've made a HUGE impact on this team it's nice to have actual game-planners
AtlantaFalconPokerPro
Dirk is in line to be a HC within 3 years if he stays here. So you really think he'd take that job?
falcons007
They are all rumors and speculation by the media. Dirk was being considered as HC in NFL before Blaine Gabbert era in JAX. He might probably wait it out couple of years and take a HC gig in NFL.
Mid-Nite-Toker
That would be interesting. I haven't heard anything about it. I saw some people talking about Quitrino going to Kentucky but I doubt that happens. They would slit their own wrists before they hired an ex-Louisville coach. falcndave
Read he is one of several canidates to be the next head coach at Kentucky. Can't believe this, but I actually agree with Pat Y for once. He commented on this earlier in the week on the NFL South blog. He felt like there was no chance Kentucky lures him away. With a playoff win or two this season, and all the NFL coaches on the hot seat, he could be an NFL head coach next season.
Karst41
How much does an NFL OC make these days? How nuch does an SEC Coach get paid?Personally I would like to see Koetter and Nolan stick around for a few years, and ultimately let smitty hand the keys to Nolan or Koetter.Listen to these guys speak and the tone of their voices. These are guys that you want to go into Battle with. AtlanticFit
No way this happens. He's in a great situation here and stands a good chance to land a HC job in the NFL if he keeps producing. I heard something on the radio today about Kentucky being interested in quitrino
Da Bird is Da Word
Dirk Koetter's done good by this team so far this season, but let's be real: Anyone's better than Mularkey, and unless you're him it's pretty hard to screw up with all our talent on offense. If he goes next year I'll miss him, but not nearly as much as I would if we lost Nolan. I can say it would suck for our team to still be learning a new scheme come next season though if this turns out to be true.
Peyton
Why would a coach who has a chance to win a Super Bowl, or multiple Super Bowls, want to go to a school where he will get his head kicked in and probably be fired within 5 years?
vel
Why do yall think coordinators do this? Can somebody name me the last 5 coordinators who went to a team and left the following season (not fired or negative reasons)? It doesn't happen. Especially when you are with a really good team. Nolan and Koetter will be here 3 years easy. Ryan will make it hard for Koetter to leave. Nolan has said he doesn't like HC as much as DC so I don't see him making a lateral move. Karst41
Head Coaches and OC's Live or Die with the Quaterback."If you draft a QB with your first round pick, by the time heMatures you will have lost your Job" Jim Mora Jr.In other words,it had better be one F'n good QB like Matt Ryan.TD and Smitty have Flourished with Ryan, and Falcons fans have loved every minuteof watching this guy Mature. If Koetter takes the job at Kentucky, they best have one of the Nationstop prospects already committed to play.
