Steel City Falcon
I have to admitt that I had high hoped for Dent based off the fact that the Falcons thought high enough of him to let Curtis Lofton walk(obviously part of it was Lofton's lack of coverage ability and desire for money). I just have to say that threw the first half of the season I haven't been impressed with Dent's play. It's not that he is a liability and I know his snaps were limited due to Nolan's use of the nickle defense, but I'm just not seeing any noticable impact from the guy. No INTs, no FFs, no sacks, and he's definitely not the run stuffer 50 was for the defense over the past couple seasons(26th in the NFL in rushing yards allowed). What do you guys think? Guest Negatorris
He played very well last night, but I want to see some more before we can pronounce the position filled. Still not convinced yet.
jdawg4876
short answer no... as a depth player and a good ST yes.
Geneaut
He's looked a little over-matched earlier in the year. I thought he played much better last night though, and we are basically just going to have to let him play more to see if he comes up to speed. don.reese
Man is a rookie and not a starter. He has not developed yet but hasn't had the game time to do so. Maybe he will or won't , but it is to soon to judge him.
chris30277
he has improved a lot from the beginning of the year to now. If he continues to improve I think we will be fine. I think our draft will be very interesting this year. I think instead of the meat and potatoes approach that we had last year, we will be looking to add flash. I think we could very well take a TE and RB early.
jdawg4876
I hope first two rounds are defense either a de/dt and a LB3rd and fourth I hope are RB/TE
birdz4i
pretty much all he did last nite was turn and run 15-20 yards deep.
Mr Pickle1
We need more meat and potatoes----a run stuffing DT, a good DE, a longterm Center or Guard, depending on where Konz ends up playing. You can find quality TE's and RB's in the mid rounds.
Big Rob 64
He played very well last night, but I want to see some more before we can pronounce the position filled. Still not convinced yet.If by "he played a good game" you mean "he turned and sprinted deep enough to not be a liability", then sure! Otherwise, he only made one or two plays where he already had someone on the ball carrier. He wasn't a glaring disaster, but he did not play well. cannonballsghost
I thought he did a good job last night......he won't have the numbers to back it up but thats because we are NOT playing the same type def we played last year and for that I think all of us are gratefullsam
Diesel_Bird
I think our focus in the draft should still be linemen
Mid-Nite-Toker
I thought the best thing Dent did was sprint up the field in passing situations into the secondary. He did have pass def after the wr bobbled it initially and he smacked the ball down.Long-term...no way IMHO. LADBABY
Dent is starting to find the ball. He was lost for a game or two. To be consistentI am prepared to back off on my tendency to be concerned when a guy has zerotackles. I am just going to watch him play for awhile and see what we have. isproab
I don't think so personally. I'm not the GM, but I never really liked Dent. I don't think he is the sideline to sideline guy you need. We need another guy in the mold of Spoon. Either way, I think we have to bring in another ILB. Someone to compete with Dent at least. freebird310
Too early to tell, but I think he will be pretty serviceable for his role in this defense....

Geneaut
I've seen better MLBs in our unis ... I've seen far far worse.Right now he's not a gaping hole of suck so I'm willing to be patient and see what Nolan can do with him over the course of the season.
