Time To Delete More History.

Recommended Posts

Everyone has heard of Andy Reid's record after a bye. The funny thing is, Mike Smith has a record of his own. It's call deleting history. Our team has been tired, and the bye week got us some much needed rest. It's not that often that you fly to Kansas City, then back home. Fly to San Diego, then back home. Fly to Washington D.C., then back home. That's a lot of traveling. I think the team will be fresh. Matt Ryan said something earlier in the season that has me thinking. Matt said, "I have 3 guys that can catch the ball at 11 feet". When you have guys like that on offense, you are really dangerous. The only road game that we have outside of our division left is in Detroit. It's back to normal for us now. Look out.

Yes, the NFL was kind to us this year. After the road game following the bye, we spend 8 of 9 weeks traveling no farther than New Orleans. Detroit is the last road trip of any length. Hopefully we will be treating that week 16 game like an exhibition and resting our starters after a couple of crisp series. It was nice to have most of the extended trips pre-bye.

Well I don't think it's just the distance factor that makes road games harder. Just sleeping in a hotel, and being in a strange city is not as comforting as being at home. I think we got the shaft with this schedule that does not have any back to back home games myself. But no use in whining about it.

I do think we break Andy Reid's record this year. The Eagles seem to be a team in disarray right now despite having a lot of talent.

A game we still had a chance in if not for that BS call.

Yea and we are much better then we were then. We are better then we were last year. I understand the Eagles picked up a few players and should be better too but they arent. They are playing sloppy. I don't quite understand why so many people think we are walking into our doom.

I heard that last week before we played the Raiders. I didn't really think about it when seeing our schedule, but apparently we are the only team in the NFL that was given a schedule we are away/home the entire season. Never two at home or on the road for that matter, that's pretty tough.

The nice part is though after we play NO @ home on that Thurs night game Nov 29, we will get that "mini-bye" as we don't play again for 10 days and going on the road again. More rest for the Falcons in the first week of December will be welcomed by our team.

It didn't don on me into a couple of days ago that through the first 9 weeks of the season the Falcons will have played just 1 divisional game. That's another strange twist to the Falcons schedule this season.

The Saints games so close together weirded me out. Its a really odd thing to do.

I agree with that mostly. I'm not so sure about the doom part. What I have generally read on that is consistent with my personal take on this game. That is that Reid has had our number in recent years, and has established an excellent record after bye's. Couple that with it being a difficult road game for us, that comes at a time when we are our best start ever. It makes sense to me at least that this might be a game that we lose.

Maybe others see a possible loss as the start of trouble, and that's the doom, not me. Even though I'm thinking we'll drop this game, it would be a single loss before getting backing to winning, nothing more offsetting than that.

As the week has gone on, I am increasingly liking our chances in this one.

When I read the title I honestly thought this was a thread on deleting your history after watching some porn.

you could say that our history of the first 35 years was like a bad porn flick.. you want it to end but you cannot take your eyes away....rolleyes.gif
