Guest Negatorris
1) Back in August did you think 6-0 ? Really.2) Did you think we could go 6-0.....................without Grimes ?Come on now........................be honest.I SAID HONEST !!!!!!Yes to #1. I knew that as soon as I saw the schedule. I almost changed my mind when Peyton signed with Denver, but since it was a home game I thought we'd win and start 6-0.And yes to #2. Last season when Grimes went out, our secondary statistcially got better. And now we have a better DC, and a veteran playmaker to boost it even more. I was one of the few telling everyone our season wasn't over after they were all thinking the sky was falling.
Ghost of Truth
I predicted us 6-0, people said I was crazy, in fact I'll have to find it, I'm pretty sure I had 13-3 or 14-2 as our overall record, I believe 13-3.As far as Grimes is concerned, I've never liked him as much as most people enjoy the folk hero that is Brent Grimes. He makes some INCREDIBLE plays, and he's always in good position, however, his size limitation causes him to give up plays to bigger WRs that aren't nearly on his talent level. It's frustrating to watch bigger guys just reach their hands up and go over him unless he gets a good plant for his jump. I'm not a hater on Grimes, just never believed the hype. muskokas finest ©
One of the qualities of this team over the last 4+ seasons has been the ability to win a high percentage of games against lesser opponents. None of the first 6 opponents player over .500 in 2011.

Dem Birds
I don't believe anyone that says that would have predicted 6-0 without Grimes.
PHALCONABERNATHY
Yes x2, I said wed be fine when we lost Grimes, I WOULD like to see more of McClain and less of that scrub Chris Owens
Tuggle'2
I thought we would be 5-1.

ChessPlayer1
The Falcons have out performed our wildest dreams. Even the biggest homers on this board have to admit that.
JayOzOne
Without going through the whole season as many do, I wondered who (if anybody) would beat us in the first six games. I am no more shocked that we won these six games than I would be if we lost a couple; that's how the NFL plays out. I was hoping simply that we would take every game seriously and try hard each week, and we've done that. Even though we have had a couple of shaky efforts, the fact that we have locked in and focused with 00:00 showing in those games tells me that this team (and especially this QB) wants to win. With that being said, continued slugfests instead of steady improvement will dampen my beliefs that we can continue to maintain the best record as the season goes on. But, drinking my red kool-aid out of my black glass, I have faith that we won't lose anytime soon.
FalconFanForLife
Well I incorrectly thought we were in big trouble without Grimes. Glad to see I as wrong, as usual.
BCEagleATLFalcon
I honestly believed before the season that 6-0 was a good possibility given the schedule. That said, I thought we were in BIG trouble when Grimes went down, I freely admit that. jlrfalcon
No season is ever determined beforehand:Playing in San Diego against the Philip Rivers of prior years appeared to be a challenge to me but that ended up being our biggest win! And, Oakland was supposedly the gimme but ended up being a nailbiter.Looking ahead - the games against the Cardinals and New York Giants look imposing at the moment but who knows what could happen between now and then. On the other side - the game against Dallas as well as most of our division games all look to be nowhere near as challenging as when the season began. The best solution is to let the team play with expectations to win rather than having media and fans tell it is predetermined to lose any games. Desert_Falcon
6-0?. Nope, did think we would have a great season but not 6-0Once Grimes was out I had serious doubts about that position.
Romfal
I always hope for it. This season we had a favorable schedule so I figured we would at least be 5-
Bill Brasky
Big thread from last May:http://boards.atlant...age__hl__record#1 Pick's prediction thread last Aprilhttp://boards.atlant..._hl__prediction#1 Pick's revised August prediction threadhttp://boards.atlant..._hl__predictionApril thread based on Smith erahttp://boards.atlant...diction__st__20This one from last February when opponents were known but schedule was nothttp://boards.atlant.../page__hl__winsBig Rob had a poll last March about where we end up with some predictionshttp://boards.atlant...age__hl__finishPat Y's prediction from Junehttp://espn.go.com/b...th-more-or-lessWhat I noticed in the big thread at top was a decent number predicted the 6-0 start, but most have us losing to the Eagles. Lots of good predictions throughout all the above threads and a few head-scratchers (although arm strength coach got half of that basement dwellers of the nfc south prediction right). Numbaz
I predicted 6-0 but not without Grimes though. Also, that was before we signed Asante.
