I wish he would too, but you have to admire going out strong with the one team he's played with for so long versus fading away as a DH in the AL for money alone.

This.

The only thing that would make his final season any more perfect is one more title.

I wouldn't be able to stomach him being a DH for an AL team, he loves playing defense too much for that anyway.

im certain he will be heavly recruited this offseason to DH.... i don't see him doing it though... as bob said he loves fielding his position, and it wouldn't look good accepting all these gifts from these teams on his farewell tour.

It is an interesting discussion

When you look at the guys in the HOF who are third basemen he is either 1-2 in pretty much every category

He would be 6th in average

But

#1 in OBP

#2 in HR

#1 in RBI

#1 in slugging

#1 in Runs scored

This is a good article. Puts him #2.
