Where Are The Black People At The Rnc Convention?

Recommended Posts

I have to say that I genuinely resent the idea that Condoleeza Rice, or any other person of color, would be 'licking boots' or 'Aunt Tomazina' or whatever else you want to call them just for having political beliefs that you don't think they should have.

These people are human beings with ideas and preferences. Saying they should have a certain set of ideas and preferences because of their race sucks, period.

That may be right. I don't know enough to say one way or another.

What I notice is that people who are die-hard Democrats will defend Democrats no matter what they do and excoriate Republicans whether they are right are wrong. And die-hard Republicans will defend Republicans no matter what they do and excoriate Democrats whether they are right or wrong. It's more of a "my team versus your team" mentality than any real discussion of issues or policy positions. It can be the exact same thing, and who is right or wrong is as simple as what party is involved.

I have friends who are both. The entire world is colored by what political party you belong to. So if Republicans nominate a guy who favors "socialized medicine" even though it's not "socialized" at all, and who ran "to the left of Ted Kennedy on social issues," well, we have to vote for this guy, because all I know is we can't take 4 more years of a Democrat in office because the country won't survive. Etc.

I remember after the 2000 election, a guy I knew who is a hardcore Democrat said "how can democracy survive?" Talking about the electoral vote versus the popular vote. As if this was some undermining of the American electoral system, when in fact it worked exactly as it was supposed to work. This was before the Supreme Court ruled on the recount, too, so it was solely based on the electoral vote versus the popular vote.

All of which is to say, when it comes to politics, people are basically ridiculous. All of us are. The more partisan, the worse it gets.

The "you" part wasn't at YOU of course. Yeah, you're right though. My parents are like that with the Dems. They can do no wrong. In fact my little sis caught it from me yesterday because she was nitpicking how many times Chris Christie said, "I" and "me". I can't stand that nonsense from either side.

The Dems would hear it from me, but there are rarely any threads that make an actual point about them. How can I defend, "teh socialztz" if I know it not to be true?

The same is true of Democrats before 2008.

How much of the vote did Jesse Jackson get?

Before 2008 doesn't count because after 2008 it was proven it wasn't just talk. Balls in the GOP court now. I would be willing to bet there will not be a black GOP nominee for another 25 years. I think we will see more Dems.

There will be one next year if Romney doesn't win. The actual party isn't racist per say. Not to my knowledge anyways. A party is neutral. PEOPLE are racist. I know a few dems who are. Our local sheriff is a dem and is stinking racist. I take the stance, "It is what it is."

Truth be told, none of the past 4 yrs makes any sense to me at all. I'm not buying a lot of the drivel that people use to defend a nonpoint though.

Dude, Condi Rice has More pride, respect and sense of Honor then 99% of the rest of the world. IF you think this lowely of her, then you've sunk Below the KLAN. You cannot in reality think black americans, who happened to be conservative, are akin to the klan. 99% of white america is NOT akin to the klan Nor dignifies their stupidy and racism.

If you really want to make a comparison, use long standing senator Byrd(deceased) who happened to be a democrat, as your target. I heard NO wailing abt him over his 40 year span and he was the titular head of the KLAN in his day.

Back to the "can't transform a country" overnight thing:

"In the short term we can't eliminate private corporations"

- Democratic Socialistic of America

OK so that kind of tells us what the long term goal is...

Then you have the long running partnership between Obama and the DSA:

The country will never be socialist no matter who endorses who. You mean to think that he could get it done in another 4yrs?

No.

Again. Both parties would be unrecognizable in any time before the mid 80's for real. In fact Obama reminds me of Reagan which may be another reason I don't really care for him.

No one's ever asked to see my birth certificate!! Get it? Cause I'm white, guys. That's why I've never been asked!! Seriously, guys, vote for me. I'm white!!

I actually heard Mitt Romney say that . " no one has ever had to ask to see my birth certificate"

Way to hammer a point home, Mittens.

Never is a big word. Just sayin. I wonder if 200 years on Romans said that Rome would never be a dictatorship.

Well, how about I doubt it. I definitely don't think it will happen in another 4trs and if we do have it...by the way things have been...I seriously doubt a Black guy would be allowed to do it.

Sorry, that card slipped from my sleeve.

Condi Rice is a corporate schill. She was also asleep at the wheel when 9/11 went down. And then there is "The problem here is that there will always be some uncertainty about how quickly he (Saddam) can acquire nuclear weapons. But we don't want the smoking gun to be a mushroom cloud."

She can kiss my ***

I have God's repect so I never thought to desire man's. I desire only to speak the truth, fair or not. Once again Steve, I'm not a dem or a lib. Maybe fiscal lib, but then again...even there I a mod.

So here is the deal. Period. Show me how this regime is socialist by using a reputable link and I'll spare you the rest of this beat down that I have in my back pocket. I'm sure I have a flush of cards back there. Romney isn't the answer. Its time for a third party pres.

Well first it takes an open mind. Then look up socialists' ideology. Look at what the Democratic Socialists stand for and compare it nearly every word that comes out of Obama's mouth. It's almost a 100% match. And it's not surprising that the Democratic Socialists were working with Obama a lot back in Chicago.

As for your often played and misused race card. It's a shame that you are gullible enough to believe that lie that anti-Obama sentiment has anything to do with race. It's about ideology. Most anti-Obama people would be more than happy to have someone like Alan Keyes or JC Watts in the white house, including myself. Heck I'd rather have those guys in the WH than Romney.

Dodge.

Ah, the good ole logical fallacies!

It's like 2008...2009...2010...2011 and 2012, all over again.

So, he doesnt remind you of Reagan. You have read that he is like Reagan. Got it.

No. I forgot that we think like that on this board. My bad. I thought by seeing some examples that others see, maybe you'd get my drift. I guess that's not going to happen around here, you HAVE to drop anything else you may do to answer a personal question. Gotcha.

See, I use to watch Reagan a lot. I watch him now. Obama has said many of the same things as well as used many similar policies. There are a lot of things, but I said what I said. He reminds me of Reagan. Hearing it and seeing it elsewhere was just confirmation that I wasn't the only one who saw it. You know I actually do have a mind and life of my own right?
