We learned Tuesday that Maurice Jones-Drew was less than thrilled with Jacksonville Jaguars owner Shad Khan’s remarks and the running back is open to a trade.

On Wednesday morning, “NFL AM” insider Steve Wyche said Jones-Drew also is open to making amends with the team that drafted him in 2006.

“After speaking to his agent,Adisa Bakari, he’s also open to bridging what is becoming a more fractured relationship because of the comments of Khan, not only Tuesday, but late last week,” said Wyche. “The issue is who is going to extend the olive branch if there is going to be a reparation, because Jones-Drew, he is further entrenched in his holdout — he does not like the situation, the fact that Khan is discussing publicly what was supposed to be handled in private.”

It’s not surprising Bakari would say Jones-Drew is open to come back, considering his client is under contract for the next two years and has next-to-zero leverage in his holdout.

Wyche also said there was no communication between the Jaguars and their best player after Khan’s remarks and the MJD camp’s reaction.

The reigning rushing yards champion, however, has been keeping in touch with his Jaguars teammates.

“I was also told was there has been an ongoing dialogue between Jones-Drew and his teammates, several of whom contacted him after Khan’s remarks on Tuesday,” Wyche said.

We can only guess whose side those players were on.

Looks like he realized he has no option but to tuck his tail between his legs and report to camp.

Kahn - 1

LMAO , Kahn called his bluff publicly and now what ever leverage his idiot agent thought they had is gone. ( Had none to begin with ) He needs to go ahead and fire his agent and like the piece said work on fixing their relationship. Holding did nothing for him but make him look like a greedy SOB. He got his nice payday. He needs to finish out this year and then work on an extension.

Yep. Players do this way tooo much. Chad Johnson said it best when he said the only player that can get away with something like that is a QB.

Well....I don't think that is true. But you have to be a critical player to a winning team. There is no such thing as a critical player on a losing team.

He is open to not add anymore to that 800k fine total he has racked up. I am sure he can see Jennings going off this preseason and realizes he has no leverage.

He has no one to be mad at but himself for signing that contract and his peers that signed off on that CBA that all the players are saying isn't fair.

Only place I can think of that gives employees power over the employer is the NBA.
