xSICKxWITHxITx
I called it.NFC South top 25: No. 10July, 9, 2012JUL 912:16PM ETBy Pat Yasinskas | ESPN.comRECOMMEND1TWEET6COMMENTS95EMAILPRINTWe continue our series of my projected top 25 players in the NFC South for the 2012 season with No. 10: Jabari Greer, cornerback, New Orleans What he did in 2011: He had only one interception, but broke up 18 passes while usually covering the opponent’s top receiver. New Orleans had problems in the secondary, but Greer wasn’t one of them. He’s also not afraid to come up and play the run or the short pass, as evidence by his career-high 71 tackles. Why he’s No. 10 in 2012: A lot of people may disagree with me on this, but I’d like to say two things about Greer. He’s the best cornerback in the NFC South and he’s also the division’s most-underrated player. If I had to pick one NFC South cornerback to go out and cover a top-notch receiver, Greer would be my choice. He is consistently good. I’d like to see him get more interceptions, so he can start getting the recognition he deserves. I think that could happen. I think new coordinator Steve Spagnuolo is going to make the New Orleans pass rush better and that will lead to more quarterback mistakes and more interceptions by Greer.Tags:New Orleans Saints, NFC South, Jabari Greer, Steve Spagnuolo, NFC South top

Rai
Not going to lie, he is a pretty decent corner and definitely quite underrated. I really don't think he's better than Grimes or Samuel though. You could argue for Gamble being better too.

TheEndzoneAnalyst
That's a ridiculous ranking. At this point, he's doing nothing more than trying to get people commenting on his blog because this 'series' has bombed so terribly.

Big Bubba
Ouch.Greer >>>>>>>>>Asante, Gamble and Grimes?I can't speak for Grimes and Asante, because I didn't see them play much last season. Gamble though basically shut down every #1 WR he was put on.
DonOfThemBirds
Pat Y has totally no credibility at all and this just proves it.Not only does he put Greer ahead of Grimes and Gamble, but he labels him as the best corner in the division and he is 30 years old while he leaves Samuel off the list because he says that he was old at the age of 31.I would rather read a list made by Peter King(who sucks also)! Big Bubba
Gamble was #3 in the league in qb rating, behind Revis and Asante.#4 in completion %, just behind Grimes (who was third)It's definitely a head scratcher, how anyone could believe Greer is the best CB in the division. He's good, he can be real good... I just don't think he's better than Grimes, Gamble and Asante.

Weren't you guys going to cut him a year or two ago?

I really liked him coming out of Florida State.

Weren't you guys going to cut him a year or two ago?Him and Fox were at odds. I wouldn't call him top 5 at the moment either. With a new scheme on defense though, with Gamble used in a lot more man coverages, he has proven to be much more than most Panther fans thought of him. This past year, he did shut down most big name WRs... to the surprise of most. Edited July 10, 2012 by pox
