capologist
Let's see what kind of "tax" gets passed to deal with all the newly insured. I mean, not like we have an over abundance of doctors and emergency rooms with empty waiting rooms. I can see it now--getting an appointment is gonna be ****, more expensive and god help me if I need emergency care...
JayOzOne
There should ne less people in the Emergency rooms because those uninsured people will now be getting primary care. This is true. Not just that, but people who need to use the emergency room for actual emergencies are going to visit regardless of whether they're insured, so this won't increase the flow in them. capologist
There should ne less people in the Emergency rooms because those uninsured people will now be getting primary care. And you are going to magically produce these primary care physicians how? Only so many appointments in a day you know. Further, are you really okay with Congress being able to pass any old kind of tax it wants in order to get something done? I mean, you know that this sets precedent for anyone not owning an American car to pay a "penalty tax" or maybe if you don't have an electric oven/stove there will be a "penalty tax". Maybe since this act allows government access to medical records, if your BMI is over a certain percentage there will be a "fat *** penalty tax". You really comfortable with this? I'm sure as **** not...

So how do you incentivize the proper behavior to not be a fat arse, because dying young isn't helping. Kids that are obese and getting adult fat people diseases is going to cost Americans a lot of money. I guess it was nice before since those people weren't going to your doctor because they couldn't afford it. Just waited till they popped up in the ER with a heart attack or stroke. capologist
why would it be **** getting an appointment?Because there's now 20 million more customers and no proportional increase in providers...there is a whole untapped market of primary care providers waiting to be tapped into. advanced practice nurses, family nurse practitioners, pediatric nurse practitioners, adult nurse practitioners, and certified registered nurse anesthetist practice rights should be expanded.I'll pass, I'd much rather see a doctor... I thought so, but holymoses and I spoke on the phone yesterday and he said he didn't think so, and having researched it, I think he's right. The ACA only requires employers to purchase coverage for full time employees, more than 30 hours per week. The people working at Yogli Mogli less than 30 hours per week make no money at all, and STILL have to either buy insurance or pay the tax.At the end of the day, it ironically hits the working poor the hardest. Irony at its finest.

Joremarid
Because there's now 20 million more customers and no proportional increase in providers...I'll pass, I'd much rather see a doctor...so there are 20 million more people who couldn't afford to see a doctor before that need to see a doctor now and you are complaining about longer waits? Joremarid
I'll pass, I'd much rather see a doctor...then by all means go see a doctor, but what you would rather do shouldn't stop others who may want to seek health care from arnps, especially if there is both a decreased cost as well as a shorter wait time to see a provider. Summerbunny
Hospitals and doctors are using PAs, nurse practitioners heavily now. It reduces the burden on the doc and is also not as costly. I think most ppl who hold out for a doctor will have a harder time seeing a doctor but that has nothing to do with Obamacare. As for the tax aspect, isn't it only a tax when you've don't have insurance? And how can anyone predict with any certainty how much this will cost or not cost. Yes more people will flood the system but at what stage. Primary care will help prevent people using the ER like a free clinic and showing up dang near dead and needing $500k in medical help and uninsured! Do we all think that the docs and hospitals just toss that bill in the trash?
capologist
so there are 20 million more people who couldn't afford to see a doctor before that need to see a doctor now and you are complaining about longer waits?Among many other things about it, yes. Do not isolate the comment, please refer back to what I've said about healthcare reform previously...

Irony at its finest.A lot of people are about to figure that out the hard way. That's why it's so silly to call this legislation socialist. If I had read the details of this plan a few years ago, I would have bet anything that it was passed by a Republican congress and signed by a republican president. Everything about it has GOP written all over it.Obama voters are the ones who should be pissed today, because they have been totally hoodwinked.
