Wow, those are some pretty lofty goals/numbers, but if those come to fruition, I wouldn't complain. I'd be elated. . . . I must say I believe the most improved will be Decoud. I agree with the least improved and the biggest surprise, though.

Total Defense: 6th

Rushing Defense 2nd

Pass Defense 10th

3rd down percentage: 7th

Interceptions: 1st (A very opportunistic Defense over the years)

Sacks: 3rd (The boldest prediction of them all, but I think they are good enough to make this happen)

The most important one IMO:

Points Allowed: 2nd (with the exception of last year, this has been a bend but don't break Defense that has given teams fits when it came to scoring points, being at least in/right outside the top ten)

With Drew Brees still in our division with the vertical passing game experience, I think he will still get his numbers, especially if the Falcons blow them out like in 08.

Leaders

Sacks:Abe 12.5

Spoon/Sid 9

Ray Edwards 10.5

Biermann 7

Mass: 5.5

Int: Samuel/DeCoud 6

Grimes5

DEFL

Grimes 7+

FF

Spoon/Abe 5

Tackles Spoon 135+

Tatupu 140

How many total sacks do you think the entire defense will have for the season?

My prediction is 42 total sacks.

Guest ¡Spot on Dtan!

Abraham will be lucky to have 7 this year.

The days Ray Edwards getting 8 sacks a year are in the rearview mirror.

And Spoon with 10? Keep Dreaming.

I can honestly see that happening as well.

I also believe that Dunta may get 2 or 3 sacks by being a situational pass rusher from the nickel back position.

Indeed; I feel Nolan will be able to utilize Dunta like he did with Vontae Davis n co in his two years with the dolphins.
