More Polar Bears Then Ever Before, Canadians Discover. Thats Good? Right?

See, I told ya so. http://times247.com/articles/polar-bear-population-at-highest-level-it-s-ever-been The silver bullet for global warming was to be vanishing polar bears- Ooops, there's more then ever Now. The second bullet was More hurricanes - Oops, they've been lessor then predicted 6 years in a row. Bullet #3 was vanishing glaciers - Ooops, looks like ice is up in the Himalaya - http://worldnews.msnbc.msn.com/_news/2012/02/09/10365382-himalayan-ice-melt-estimates-get-a-major-downsizing and Bullet #4 was Sea levels were gonna rise UP, kind of like the falcons, and over take Manhatten - Ooops, no islands have been lost and sea levels have been on the rise for 6000 years. I suppose the continents aren't as fragile to the sea's then we thought.

Global warming was all about a power struggle and desire for Control by a few. The idea being scare the mass's, control the mass's. Problem is, the accusers, the predictors made Prediction that were easily detectable, like the hockey stick theory. The scare that a 1 degree temp change in 130 years, following a mini ice age was disasterous. Heck, people like warmer climates. Plants are fed by Co2. A greener planet is a bi product of C02 and thats A good thing. Not to mention, C02 is a bit particle and we exhale it with every breath. Hardly a monster. So, I'm glad for the monster to have been slayed. Only 32% of Americans judge global warming as a problem and that just coincides with the # of card carrying democrates. http://www.americanthinker.com/2011/07/the_global_warming_hoax_how_soon_we_forget.html

The problem with your carton is that our govt isn't interested in changing our energy sources for any of those reasons, not to mention fossil fuels are natural and not harming the envornment. Its also patently ignorant to change resources to green sounding sources that cannot provide us our energy needs. All those items are gimmicks to create pressure. We have no source of energy that replaces gas and oil and coal. Wind and solar aren't in the ball park.

Smoke em if ya got em...

I know this is a passionate debate for a LOT of people, but every person on either side needs to ask themself if they are fighting for the right cause. Should we want to remain dependent on foreign oil to sustain our economy? No. Should we want to continue investing millions of dollars in other countries resources? No. Should we want to develop other means to maintain our conveniences that also provide our capitalist society more competition against foreign companies? Absolutely. Next debate.

psummo - Great stuff and I've said much of the same thing. The all for broke method of labeling oil, gas and coal enemy's of the environment was the 1st mistake, then came the pronouncement that it was warming the planet. Look, we can drill here, provide for ourselves for a century or more, with what we have found Now. Use alternatives, go nuclear, develop hydro projects - Put people to work in those industry's, and you will solve a number of problems immediately. The Green industry has squandered Billions of $$s' and 1000's of jobs. To put all that money into a resource, that sounds good, but cannot sustain itself Now is stupid. We can have it all here in America and it will not be done until the incentive to use our resources is adopted and NOT impugned. Critical problem solved - By moving towards Our own energy independance you create 100's of 1000s of jobs. Its all right there.

I actually have grown to believe in Global Warming, I just do not think it is reasonable to attribute that to man, in fact it is a perfect example of our arrogance. That said, I'm all for a meeting in the middle. We should live cleaner, recycle, cause far less damage, but still utilize our resources AND EXPAND THAT EXPLORATION, all the while continuing to develop alternatives that will dominate the marketplace. They are not ready yet by any stretch, but they will be one day soon, but only if we go through the growing pains of development. That said, the Volt is still a rip off at 40k

Silent1, I have given my time and effort and money to enviro issue's, ie. cleaning up waterways, maintaining trail systems, etc over the years and nobody wants dirty air or water. I am a frequent voice on oceanic fishing issues. Over fishing and maintaining our oceans and rivers is essential. The founder of Green peace, a good man, quit not long ago because the Rabid environmentalist came in after the cold war ended, and they were basicly Anti capitalist and they were out of their gords. He's written on the bastardization of his movement and it goes right over hollywoods and Nancy Pelosi types, heads.

dude havent you been making these type of threads for like 10 years now? We all understand your thoughts on global warming. Why do you feel the need to bring up the exact same stuff over and over and over again?

I'm updating the information to better serve you guys...

I'm sure nobody will read this stuff, but I'm posting it anyway. The oceans are becoming more acidic. The last time this happened, we had a little thing known as the Permian-Triassic extinction event. Deisel, you claim you want to educate and discuss. You can't claim the links I am giving are from MSM or Al Gores climate profit machine.

Because at the end of the day reality doesn't matter, it's how I feel. If I feel fossil fuels don't harm the environment or people in any way then whatever fact based reality you present doesn't matter.

http://www.scienceda...90223091752.htm - This site pulled up a blog,

http://arstechnica.c...n-it-burned.ars - The great die off occured because of Volcanism, in mass quantities. Volcanoes produce all kinds of ash and particals and 250 Million years ago we had dinosaurs walking the planet and the world was a much different place.

As I am very interested in this subject matter, I read many different stories from a host of sites. I don't take 1 line as the truth but I search out as many view points and come to my own conclusions. This is all very interesting stuff, but in regards to C02 levels. The heat rises, then the Co2 levels rise and much later as well.

You do realize the study was conducted by the gov't of Nunavut, the same gov't that is pushing for an increase in polar bear hunting quotas for the Inuit people

So, the people who Actually live there, actually KNOW what the hel. they're talking abt, cannot do a proper study? I guess we need some egg head in St. Louis to make a model and tell us whats up 1500 miles away?

I don't trust the egg head in St Louis, but these scientific minds here on our own MB are amazingly competent to issue proclamations on the reality of Global Warming...aren't they? LmFAO

You're oversimplifying, so I'll do the same. Local residents on the western shore of Hudson Bay want to hunt more polar bears. Their local gov't wants to let them hunt more polar bears, to keep them happy, ergo might be inclined to inflate the count.

Climate Alarmist Calls For Burning Down Skeptics’ Homes

Paul Joseph Watson

Infowars.com

Thursday, April 19, 2012

Writing for Forbes Magazine, climate change alarmist Steve Zwick calls for skeptics of man-made global warming to be tracked, hunted down and have their homes burned to the ground, yet another shocking illustration of how eco-fascism is rife within the environmentalist lobby.

http://4.bp.blogspot.../s1600/fire.jpg

Comparing climate change skeptics to residents in Tennessee who refused to pay a $75 fee, resulting in firemen sitting back and watching their houses burn down, Zwick rants that anyone who actively questions global warming propaganda should face the same treatment.

“We know who the active denialists are – not the people who buy the lies, mind you, but the people who create the lies. Let’s start keeping track of them now, and when the famines come, let’s make them pay. Let’s let their houses burn. Let’s swap their safe land for submerged islands. Let’s force them to bear the cost of rising food prices,”

writes Zwick, adding, “They broke the climate. Why should the rest of us have to pay for it?”
