Kay Hagan is done!VOTE FOR RANDOM REPUBLICAN X !!!!
JayOzOne
What am I missing here? What dog does anyone in the Senate have to pass this legislation? I know that lawmakers have gone nuts in the last four years, but I don't see their angle to do this.

I know that lawmakers have gone nuts in the last four years, but I don't see their angle to do this.It is a sector that is growing and highly sought after... **** i don't make OT where I work (the downside of salary, though I hear of people who get overtime with salary... jerks!), but this spits in the face of research triangle park in Raleigh and Charlotte's IT sector... They must want that Facebook money in Cali...
JayOzOne
I get salary and OT. The OT is cut off at $25/hr but still comes in handy. If they gave me half an hour of comp time for every overtime hour worked, they could save money and have an overtime working fool on their hands but that's not a consideration. I just don't understand the national priority for this law to be proposed, let alone put to the floor for vote with bi-partisan backing. kane#7
I don't understand how your Govt. can make something that decides how much you can get paid... I understand a salary floor but in a free market they shoudln't tell employers if they can give their IT specialists OT. That should be up to each individual business... and the ones that decide to give it will naturally get the best people.. why is it the Govts problem? silentbob1272
I'm salaried and work quite a bit of overtime (no extra). I do score comp time and shockingly, my company lets me actually take it. I had tons of comp time with a past company, but it was always looked at with frowns and groans if you ever mentioned using those hours. Rambler
You and your fellow employees need to stop working overtime. I know its easy for me to say sitting where I sit now but I have been a part of many a disgrunted job site before and most problems are solved when the workers band together. I know this sounds radically Union but nothing peezes me off more than employers getting over on employees because the workers refuse to stand up to them. I always had the attitude that if you treated me wrong, you wouldn`t get too many more opportunities to do so.
Self Made Soul
Here's a crazy thought. Why not let the employee and the employer work out these details on their own terms?

I don't mind working OT, I got a nice bonus at the end of the year, but it was like some silly small number per hour vs what I worked but at least they cared
