State Of The Franchise

Recommended Posts

Matt Millen (for what its worth) pretty much said that Matt Ryan didn't rise to the occassion in big games. Looked like a deer in the head lights. Steve Wyche came to Matt's defense and pointed out the weak offensive line. Millen agreed for the most part regarding our oline. Pretty standard stuff. Showed highlights of Eli escaping the rush and making plays down the field. Showed batted balls and Ryan caving in under the Giant rush.

Steve Wyche & Matt Millen both had positive things to say about Matt Ryan, that he hasn't reach his ceiling yet, and the offensive line let him down in the Giants playoff game. More than that how the team as a whole doesn't respond to big games , they fall out of their character very easy in big games when things don't go right. I've always said that. You have to believe that you can do what you do best no matter what the other team does. The Falcons especially when the lights are on etheir don't have or can't summon that swag when they need to. Maybe the new coordinators can bring that out of them. They along with Jamie Dukes all said the Julio trade was worth it. Overall it was a good segment

Same ol stuff

Oline sucked

Offense needs identity

Matt choked due to Oline

No mention of defense

They didnt mention our pass rush but everything else was spot on. Ryan looks like a dear in the headlights sumtimz and gets nervous during big games. See green bay and NY playoff games...... The Oline is well below average and if we dont correct it we will have the same results as last yr.....

If people think thats signing the OG from the jags and hiring a new Oc/Ol coach wil be enuff they are saddly mistaken. If ryan cant get better protection this yr he wont make it through 16 games IMO..... If he doesnt have time to get the ball downfield they might as well put me and my uncle at WR

Thanks for the link G-dawg.

Everyone take a look at the offensive line in the highlights of that vid.

Absolutely pitiful. And it looked like that all game.

The experts know wtf they are talking about-

There's not a QB or offense in the league that could perform under that kind of pressure.

the offensive line is atrocious - put Matt Ryan behind Tom Brady's offensive line and we would have a brand new Quarterback. Matt got punished last year - and has never really been protected since he has been in Atlanta - just has gotten good at throwing the ball away.

And then the sad part is people complaining about HIS escapability. There is no where to step up in the pocket UNLIKE Eli who could step up in the pocket and throw the ball. If anyone couldnt see that he was under diress, they are delusional.

The fact we could not get inches on 4th downs tells you all you need to know about our offensive line...

We failed 4th and inches 3 TIMES. It's amazing how these idiots think that all QBs should be able to get it done behind a sub-par OL.

Almost every single elite QB has at the very least one pro-bowl lineman. We had zero this year, including Sackmaker who just disgusts me when he plays.

Matt never complains publicly about the offensive line - it has to burn him though to watch the other elite QBs like Tom Brady and Drew Brees eat a ham sandwich in the pocket before throwing the ball while he gets 1.5 seconds to throw the ball or knows that he will be staring up at the top of the GA Dome.
