Last month, former West Virginia defensive end Bruce Irvin ran very fast at the Scouting Combine, with a 4.5 in the 40-yard dash. Over the weekend, he apparently didn’t run fast enough.

Irvin was arrested late Saturday night in Morgantown for destruction of property, according to WVMetroNews.com. He allegedly broke a sign at a sandwich shop.

A pass-rush specialist whose final season fell short of expectations with only 8.5 sacks, Irvin’s performance in Indianapolis resulted in a surge in phone calls expressing interest in him.

More phone calls than, say, the two he was allowed to make late Saturday night.

As a WVU fan, who saw every game Irvin played in, I can't believe his hype is at the point of being taken in rd 2 would be a "drop".

Say NO to Irvin, unless we get him in like round 5 (which aint happening). Obviously, none of us know if he will be the next JPP, but he is incredibly one dimensional. To say he will be a project is an understatement. Not the kind of pick we should make at #55. We need a home-run at 55.

West Virginia OLB Bruce Irvin was arrested Saturday for destruction of property, the day after the school's Pro Day.

Irvin reportedly destroyed a sign at a Jimmy John's restaurant in Morgantown. The former junior college transfer already had a troubled past by being ruled academically ineligible out of high school followed by a stint in juvenile jail. Irvin is a pass rush specialist with elite athleticism, but shies away from contact on the edge. This news may solidify Irvin as a third-day pick.

A sign? At a sandwich shop? That's the type of aggressiveness we need on our team. Sign him up!!!

That's EXACTLY what I was thinking. If he can break an opposing QB like that sign...well...

Let this post in no way be contrued to indicate that the Atlanta Falcons management, coaching, or personnel encourage the intentional injury of any players on opposing rosters. Furthermore, let it not be construed that there is any incentive, financial or otherwise, for the act described thereof.....yada.....yada....

Good lord. This reminds me so much of Noel Devine from last year. People bring up what happened to someone back in high school, yet totally want to ignore what they did in college.

Bruce may have had a little too much to drink this weekend on the craziest night in Morgantown in years. Just go to YouTube and watch the I'm Schmacked video from St. Patrick's day. He hit a sign, was taken into custody until a situation was worked out, and he was let go. Simple as that.
