falcon057 Posted March 13, 2012 Share Posted March 13, 2012 The New York Jets kept defensive tackle Sione Pouha from the open market by signing him to a three-year deal, the team announced Monday. He could have become an unrestricted free agent Tuesday afternoon.Pouha, 33, led Jets linemen with 58 tackles last season. The main duty for the 6-foot-3, 325-pounder is to clog the middle and stuff the run.Pouha has played six seasons for the Jets and started the last three since being drafted out of Utah. He had a safety and also forced a fumble last season.Because he served a religious mission in college, Pouha did not enter the NFL until he was 26.
