Peyton
Brent Grimes will sign his tender tommorrow, the first day he is eligible to sign it.I mean....why wouldn't he? The money is guaranteed the minute his pen hits the paper.
Butudontseeme™
Is the whole 10.6 against the cap when he signs? Just curious.
Peyton
Is the whole 10.6 against the cap when he signs? Just curious.Unless they sign him to a long term deal. He can put a lot of pressure on the team to get it done simply by signing the tender. It also negates their ability to pull that tender back. Ryanless Falcons
And he would show his lack of long term intelligence.

Swift&Change
50/50 shot ..REASONS WHY HE SIGNS TENDER- like you said he will make 10 mil- all guaranteed- if he performs and ups his value next year in free agencyReasons why he doesnt sign tender-wants long term deal in case of injury- could be leaving 20 mil on table with one- he is in no rush ..he has the leverage now Falcons up against cap ..He can wait to his best deal and whats best for him and his family

Like swift said, the contract gets him twice the money the tender will. Yes, he can try and up his stock for next FA but who is going to sign a 30 year old corner to a real contract. He has to sign it now. He will wait to see what guys like Finnegan and Carr get and go from there. No point in being the first to sign when you have all the time in the world.Plus, if you were a corner and TD told you they were going to go after Williams hard so hang tight, why would you sign your tender? It would just screw everything up, especially when the guy is going to help you out. Edited March 12, 2012 by vel

Peyton
Apparently there are reasons he won't since his agent has already said soHis agents comment was "we are not planning to sign the tender at this time". Not exactly a hard statement, especially since tomorrow is the first day he could sign it anyway.
Peyton
Some of you guys seem to think the Falcons have no reason to negotiate once he signs the tender. I think the exact opposite is true.
