A Trade That Makes Sense For Both Teams ..

Recommended Posts

Jason Snelling

Stephen Nicholas

2013 4th round pick

for

Osi

Giants just dumped Brandon Jacobs ...he is replaced by Snelling relatively cheap ..The Giants wanted Jacobs to restructure ..They also add some LB depth and a player that almost signed with them when he was free agency . They liked Nicholas they need depth at LB a mid round draft pick for a player that is free agent next season

we get a Pass rusher that we will offer him a ext with incentives .we give him nice contract next 4 years in 9 million range and we solve our problems at DE ...Osi has a house in Atlanta ..

Defense would look like this ..

DE-Osi

DT -Babs (my wish would be cut Babs and sign Jason Jones)

DT-Corey Peters

DE-Ray Edwards

OLB-Lofa Tatupu

MLB-Dent

WLB-Spoon

in 3-4 scheme ..we will see more Bierman and Sidbury

Are you kidding? lol, even if you replace Snelling with Turner, the Giants will not make that trade. Nicholas and Snelling have little to no trade value, Turner is 4th...3rd at best, and 4th rounder next year? For Osi?....a premier pass rusher....would never happen.

well the alternative is that osi walks away for free next year right? so they may be a little more willing because of that

That premier pass rusher also has question markets and will be a free agent . Osi getting up in age , has a history of knee problems and is a impending free agent ...what you think Osi will fetch a 1st round pick ?

They pick up Snelling to replace Jacobs ..

They pick up a solid LB that they once were after

and a 4th round pick

oh boy. Resign Snelling just to give him away. I am not sure if that is in the plans. Nicholas I could see us trading away

dont think you are giving Snelling away..he was a impending free agent ..We made him contract offer he accepted we can use as a chip to add a pass rusher

I'm not sure they would accept it, as I think they have their eye on a RB in the draft.. Maybe Wilson. They could keep their 4th round pick and buy themselves one more year to find another pass rusher to replace Osi, while he wreaks havoc once again..

I don't think they would do it, but I like the way you think..

So it is acceptable to take a guy that is oft injured and has not wanted to play before because someone likes him? If that happens then we now have to get another back up RB and another OLB and then have to worry about getting another DE in just a few years if it takes that long.

Yes OLB and backup rb are not important in value as a potential pass rusher ..We just signed Lofa to contract and could look to draft a RB that not only serves as primary Turner back but a future replacement for him in year or 2

not that hard to think ahead man

It is not that hard to think. You trade away good depth and a starter and a 4th rounder for a guy that is oft hurt. You are seriously delusional if you think that he is going to sign a contract for 4 years 9 million. I don't care what the incentives are. You think that they are really going to put in 20 million in incentives? That contract is less than Biermann's. The more and more you talk the less and less you sound like you know what you are talking about.

Edit: You said it all there. Potential. So we trade away 2 players that we know are contributers and possibly one more for a potential?

Osi is a 30 year old, non-starting malcontent with bad knees, seeking a big contract. The Giants might even release him, all things considered. Given the fact the Giants have a lot of free agents, they might take several low cost, roster filling players to rid themselves of a headache.

4 years at 8-9 mil per ..not that hard to comprehend . Osi played in 16 games 3 out of last 4 years im pretty sure

It also has some risk reward but what are we giving up ..We are giving up a OLB yes as depth and a backup rb . We just signed Lofa who has played outside and looks like the plan is to go Dent inside over Lofton ..

please bring something else to the argument my friend ..We are not taking a huge risk by either giving up a 2nd round draft or anything of that value ...

100% ..

the reward outweighs the risk here if you ask me ...

Lets say Osi never pans out or gets hurt ...we lose a backup rb ..(easy replaceable and a OLB) we just signed Lofa who can play outside and looks like plan is to move Dent inside ..

the reward

Osi stays healthy we get a stud pass rusher 9-12 sacks next 3-4 years

What part of Osi is not going to sign a 4 8-9 million dollar contract is hard for you to comprehend? That contract is less than Kroy's. Tatupu was injured the last few years, so we take an extreme gamble with him to get someone that swift likes? You can not be this clueless.

Okay so with that being established do you really think that he is going to take less money than CJ, Abe, or Peppers? He has produced the same as them. You just want them to get him so that you can cry about it later. If he is traded to us for what you consider little value to us what does that say that they think about Ny Giants thought on him?
