Georgia's Branden Smith And One Other Arrested For Possession Of Marijuana ...

Key phrase here

Danze Woods was arrested last week by Henry County Sheriff Deputy Jesse Ingram for Possession of Marijuana. He was stopped as he traveled through Henry County and Deputy Ingram found marijuana on him. This makes his second arrest in less than a week.

Not saying Brandon is innocent but apparently this has been an issue for the passenger.

Not saying that Branden was innocent, but don't be surprised if/when the passenger takes full blame for the incident and claims the marijuana to be his. If this happens, Branden gets out of legal trouble, and probably only suspended for the 1st game due to hanging out with the wrong crowd/bad publicity.

yep it was found on the passneger and i bet branden smith gets a 1 game "you are so stupid" suspension and a whole lot of running. i hope he enjoys gassers.

2 game suspension, unless he has had a run-in with Richt in the past, then it might be a kick-off the team.

Based on the RB suspension's last yr. & our policy is 10% of games on 1st offense, unless there is something we don't know about; I think Branden is looking @ 1 game IMO.

yep.. CB Branden Smith's possession of marijuana arrest will trigger an automatic suspension of at least one game, AD Greg McGarity said.

i have seen this commented by a number of guys who cover uga..

Does anyone else find it odd that the article on rickeystokesnews.com that the arrest was made at 11:41pm and the article was posted at 114am? I mean I know Dothan is probably the 5th largest city in Alabama but I'm not even sure this would have been posted as quick if this were to happen in Athens. Seems a little too quick for me...and I'm not making excuses for what transpired on B. Smith's part.

gentry stated: Crossed my mind, definitely. Don't think I've ever seen one reported quicker unless someone was at the scene.

another one from dash:

The thing I wonder how did the guy who broke the story know Branden was a UGA player?....Not making any excuses for Branden by any means, but this story broke just two hours after the arrest, so sounds like to me he had a real in with the cops there to get it that quick.

******************

that is pretty interesting and it's the first time i have seen a report this quickly after an arrest. i believe this happened in dothan, alabama and they knew right away he was a uga player and reported it just 2 hours later.

Yeah, I noticed that while reading it, and thought it odd.

But rickeystokesnews.com sounds like some kind of NASCAR driver fanpage.

Well, against a team that routinely runs 4 and 5 wide (this is my understanding), missing 4 of your top 5 corners (Commings, Smith, Marshall, Sanders) is a great way to get burned.

If B. Smith isn't out there, Bowman will be the starter opposite Swann.

Not feeling the happy.

Edit: Wait, Mitchell is switching to full-time corner? Nevermind we got this. Disregard all prior negativity =)

corey moore is listed and will be play cb for us in that game along with malcolm mitchell who will be starting alongside damian swann. we have bowman as well. not having smith if he does miss 2 games means we will have to play harrow some also. yeah it's not ideal at all, but with a good pass rush we can shorten his window and maybe slow them down. it doesn't mean we will lose that game imo. there are plenty of ways to slow down missouri.

Sac, the report im reading says it was found under the seat not on either one of the players. also, im hearing that 3 games is being discussed. but, i think that is taking into precaution that he will fail a drug test which means +1 on top of 2 games for the arrest. Heres the exact wording Im getting:

HENRY COUNTY: A traffic stop in Henry County has resulted in the arrest of a starter player for Georgia Bulldogs.

Henry County Sheriff Deputy Paul Motzenbecker made a traffic stop on Highway 431 on a 2007 Dodge Charger. The vehicle was southbound. At the time of the traffic stop Deputy Motzenbecker smelled what appeared to be marijuana from the vehicle. The driver and passenger were removed from the vehicle and the vehicle searched. On searching the vehicle the deputy found a bag of marijuana wrapped up under the seat of the vehicle.

Both the driver and passenger were arrested and booked into the Henry County Jail for Possession of Marijuana, a misdemeanor offense. The time of the arrest was about 11:41 PM tonight.

The driver has been identified as Branden Smith and the passenger as Danze Woods, both of Atlanta Georgia. They were reported headed for the beach.

Branden Smith is a starter player for the Georgia Bulldogs.

Danze Woods was arrested last week by Henry County Sheriff Deputy Jesse Ingram for Possession of Marijuana. He was stopped as he traveled through Henry County and Deputy Ingram found marijuana on him. This makes his second arrest in less than a week.

who is talking about 3 games? no one has that knowledge of what they are discussing regarding the suspension. if so then we have someone who has a bug on cmr and can read his and mcgarity's mind. mcgarity said minimum of 1 games earlier today and anything else is pure speculation.

oh, speculation for sure. like i said im guessing theyre being precautionary and assuming he will fail a drug test, so they have taken it upon themselves to add the 3rd.
