Atlanta Falcons WR Roddy White says New Orleans Saints failed to earn bounties against them - NFL News

New Orleans Saints and Atlanta Falcons share one of the most intense rivalries in the National Football League (NFL) and with the revelation that the Saints ran a bounty program to injure opponents it is highly likely that some of those might be put on Falcons’ players.

However, wide receiver, Roddy White, does not seem so sure if that is the case.

Speaking during a visit to the NFL Network, White said that even if the Saints had some bounties on them they were unsuccessful in injuring any of their players.

“If they did have bounties on us, they never got any of our guys out of the game. It was unsuccessful."

An NFL investigative report released last Friday alleged that New Orleans ex-defensive coordinator Gregg Williams placed bounties on opposing players for his team to go out and injure.

With the Saints facing accusations throughout the 2011-12 regular season from their opponents for playing a dirty game the report seems to corroborate that Saints players deliberately looked to injure their opponents.

Bounties ranged from a few hundred dollars for making important plays to $ 1,000-1500 for knocking out an opponent.

White though does not seem to bothered if a bounty was placed on him saying that games against New Orleans are so intense that both teams’ players try to knock the other out.

"It didn't bother me because like they're trying to take people's heads off we're trying to take people's heads off. Especially when we play against them, it's like a rivalry and it's a little extra in the week that you get ready for that game.”

The Falcons ended the 2011-12 season with a 10-6 record but more importantly lost both of their games against New Orleans including a 45-16 pounding in week 16.

Atlanta though qualified for the playoff wildcard round but put in a woefully inept performance in their game against New York Giants.

The Falcons lost by a 24-2 margin and were knocked out of the playoff rounds.

Roddy White’s season though was brilliant as he showcased his importance in Atlanta’s roster. The wide receiver made 100 receptions, the second highest in the league, for a gain of 1,296 yards and scored eight touchdowns

That is hilarious to me. but the second part I highlighted is the truth. It is always a battle of trying to kill one another. In my opinion neither team looked any different in all of meetings ever since we became rivals.

I think Roddy speaks so well when on camera. And people misunderstand he tweets. I know I limit myself on text a lot, because there is a lot of misunderstood text messages. And I look at Roddy's tweets as the same; I misunderstanding.

anyhow the first line had me laughing seriously.

I always look forward to our match with the Saints. but this year I am not sure. I am thinking the saints are going to be scared to move. but we shall see.

I have always liked the Saints rivalry. However it has been pretty one sided lately. Even through all of this drama the Saints are going through, they are still gonna be tough to beat. If they add Randy Moss it could get ugly real fast. Actually not a bad tweet from Roddy though.

LMAO, WHAT?

I saw that too. I was going to highlight it. but I didn't cause I wanted people to see that fact that Roddy does speak well and is not a drama mama. oh well the cat is out of the bag. LOL

also good eyes, I always look at all the comments and see that maybe just a few guys/girls read what all was posted.

Lets see you get thrown at 100+ times and we'll see how many you let slip through your hands.

I don't understand how that's relevant to anything, but let's make it relevant:

Roddy White was thrown at 100+ times in the 2010-11 NFL season, and was nowhere close to leading the league in drops.

No salt he just admitted falcons try to injure also. And nobody seems sickened by this like I thought all you integrity of the game guys would be?

No if my memory serves me correct I remembered hearing "they play like they're scared", "they lack fire", things like that coming from your organization so by that logic, we apparently lacked that bountyesque playing style that you all had. I think roddy was just pointing out that you all weren't effective at injuring us because we knew all along where you were coming from and how to protect against it!
