The Farve Trade?

Recommended Posts

What did y'all get for him?

We got the satisfaction that we traded him away to a city where he didn't have all the distractions as compared to Atlanta. I'm sure if he was to have been traded to the Saints he would have never accomplished what he did in the NFL. So what did we get?? We drafted him, traded him to a city where he became a HOF.

We actually saved his life...that's enough for me

PS. How's that bounty thing going, haven't followed it closely, but it's not looking good from what I've heard. Please keep us updated.

We got the 1st round draft pick Goodell stripped from the BagHeads for that lil bounty thing they were doing. Then Farve teamed up with Warner and sued them same BagHeads along with a host of other players causing the owner to go bankrupt, forcing him to sell the team to Magic Johnson and moved to LA. Isn't it great to be a FALCONS fan

Guess I google it. Looks like none of the falcon fans know?

Ain't worth the time to google it...Old news. I heard(new news) Bree's aint real happy, and there was something about a bounty. How's that working out? Unless your a historian no we don't care about Farve. How did the Saint's fair during that same time frame, just out of curiosity?

Might want to google it...

Is your board still down? Our's goes out all the time, it sucks, it normally happens when there is something happening. OHHH guess there's a lot of stuff going on over there??

Any updates to how many daft picks you lose this year? Or how long a couple of your players will be suspended? You are our new Saints beat reporter, feel proud the news coverage sucks here.

I think this is why we let him go because he couldnt handle the Atlanta nightlife and he was drinking his way out of the league so the front office made a choiceto help a young man in the long haul how many other teams would do that?

Can anybody answer the question for me I figured a falcon fan would know this wikapidia doesn't mention it?

He was traded for the 19th pick of 1992 draft so now that i answered your question do that help you out....so now that i answered your question what is your quaterback situation and what do you as a Saints fan think should happen for the bounty thing and be honest or what do you hope happens

@N.O.L.A BOI

there is a lot of talk that people are real upset with Brees contract demands and he may sit out. Is that a real poss?

I don't think brees will sit out because you can tag him twice and that would make him 35 after all that. From my understanding the hold up is brees wants the big money up front and the saints wanted it on the end of the contract. Most of the time players don't see the back end of the contract. The word around town is they only used the tag to buy time to negotiate more without outside team clouding the process. But the sooner they work it out the better it's hard to beleave anyone with true football knowledge would think the saints let him go. He'll either play for us or he won't play. Ask V.jack from the chargers he figured that out after what seven weeks of no pay lol

I think we should and will be punished. On a realistic side worst case I figure fines all around GM, HC and team. And loss of draft picks maybe the 2nd this year and the 1st next year. NE didn't get any suspensions of coaches I don't believe but who knows they might get SP for upto 4 games and GW for 8. Who cares if they suspend Micky he's a GM after FA period his jobs over pretty much to me. So in all I think fines will be larger than NE's were and one more pick lost. The way I see it spying give you an advantage on the feild where's a bounty really won't give you an advantage. The reports were that whoever was rewarding the players for interceptions , fumbles and big defensive plays or knocking players out of game ment illegally knocking them out. The stats dnt show much illegal play or the penalty numbers weren't out of the ordinary during the time frame. The players are saying it was not ment to take a player out by an illegal shot just a hard shot within the rules of the game so I guess we shall see huh?

And thanks man for answering that for me I really couldn't remember what y'all got in return. I think y'all did good I wasn't big on him coming outta Southern Miss. Dallas robbed us with the S.Walsh trade as did the redskins with ricky lol! Can you remember who y'all picked with #19?

Yea, we never really had a chance to see what Favre COULD have been. He just couldn't handle the Atlanta night life. Oddly enough, he had a drinking problem, and we sent him to Green Bay. Which isn't TOO far from Milwaulkee, Wisconsin, which happens to be like beer capital of the world lol.

The end results of the trade DEFINITELY favor the Packers. They got one of the best QBs in NFL history, we got a RB who was knocked out of the NFL due to concussions and other injuries in 3 years, and a decent DE in Archambeau.

As far as the penalties that will be handed out to the Saints, I don't see them losing more than one pick. It could be the second this year, or the first next year. I don't think the bounty system is what is getting them in trouble, because it is widely known that NFL teams have a program like this in place. What is going to hurt the Saints is:

A.) An investigation was ongoing in 2007, where current Saints players and past Saints players all denied allegations of any sort of operation going on. Fast forward 5 years later, and there is in fact a bounty system in place within the organization.

B.) The fact that Loomis TOLD the rest of the staff to knock it off, yet it CONTINUED to happen doesn't look good on the management staff, from Loomis on down.

I also think that some Saints players (mainly Vilma) could be a scapegoat for the whole player side of things. Y'all need cap relief, and why not target the main culprit in a "cap relief" move. 22 of 27 players were found to have some part in the bountygate scandal. I believe based on their level on involvement, most will face fines, and a handful (maybe 5-6) will face some level of suspension.

It would be easy to clown the Falcons over that trade. Not so much the trade, because we did trade a former 2nd round pick that was drinking himself out of football to Green Bay for their 1st round pick.

What would be easy to clown over is the bum we drafted with that pick. Jerry Glanville had such a hard on for Eric Metcalf he kept trying to draft a clone. So we ended up with Tony Smith with that first round pick.

Getting docked for draft picks seem to punish the fans and the city, more so than the offenders. Make Benson sell the team.
