Shredman
Not sure how much merit this holds , and can Falcons afford to resign Lofton and be able to bring in C Nicks and M Williams ???????dont know , but I hope they find a way to make it work...Steve Wyche NFL.comTexans will have to fight off Seahawks, FalconsThere are plenty of teams that could use Mario Williams, but the two places I've recently heard that could be in play are Seattle and Atlanta. The Seahawks' emerging defense could thrive with a versatile "elephant" linebacker/defensive end like Williams who can really get after the quarterback. The Falcons are letting aging pass-rush specialist John Abraham hit the free agent market and they desperately need a pass rusher in a division loaded with talented QBs.Bucky Brooks NFL.comFalcons could win South with Williams in the mixThe Atlanta Falcons are the best fit for Williams. They desperately need a pass rusher of his skill, and GM Thomas Dimitroff has made it known they need to become more explosive along the defensive front.Williams will command an enormous salary, but his ability to create disruption off the edge could push the Falcons over the top in the NFC South. jb 3.0
Man, That'd be a HUGE pickup! But...He's gonna cost a bundle! Signing Super Mario would make people forget about John Abraham REAL FAST!

Resse
You will have to battle with Paul Allen money (scary) to get him and are these really the only 2 teams looking at super mario?

We have more cap space then the average contenders, we ARE a contender,, we play in a 4-3, Atlanta is close to his home in NC then any other contender,We have some good layers on defense already here. Or the chance to play with the great Ray edwards? You think you're contenders I think your window has closen you just don't it know yet.His family is more of the northen part of NC and Since he grew up in NC he grew up hating the falcons. falconsd56
Btw we do not rely on a "30 year old back"Ryan is the catalyses for our offense now and his passing attempts going up every year shows that.Maybe you should focus on trying to stop Ryan before you comment on the falcons window be closed ok?After all he only had what 6 tds vs the panthers this yearin contrast cam had what 5 picks vs the falcons?? Top 10 this and top 10 that what happen to being a top 10 offense? You were 1 right?2. Best defense by default that's now maybe losing their MLB, best Pass rusher, and has Grimes signed his tag yet? Plus add in the fact you are now learning a new system. Could be a setback for most teams but not the 5 time lombardi champ falcons? Of course we did win it all in 2009.I don't see the Saints window as closing. As long a Brees is under center and Peyton calling the plays, the Saints still have to be considered a SB contender. Now if Goodell drops a post season ban on the Saints for a few years, then yes, it's time to start rebuilding. That would change the second he signed with Atlanta.Apples/Oranges
