THE ICEMAN
With Lofton not getting the tag it appears more and more likley that he's on his way out. And with Dent being so green Vilma could be the answer. Yes he is still under contact with NO's but could and is likley to get cut because of his cap hit and with NO's reworking Will Smith's deal you got to believe there are trying to do the same with Vilma but I don't see him giving in unless they pay him more (Kind of What the Falcons should do with Ryan) because the team needs the cap room this year but would likley have to shell more money out to Vilma in the later years atleast thats how in it works most of the time.I don't think he's as good as Lofton but when Healthy Vilma's a pretty good player. And Health/injuries is whats hurts him the last two years and likley would be the reason if he gets cut.3 years 24 million with a base salary around 5.5 million against the cap for VilmaLofton will be looking for 7-9 mil a yearAnd I wouldn't be worried a hole lot over the bounty thing as it seems like Greg Williams was the guy who put the system in place and the players just went along with it besides who going to turn down money for getting Sacks,Ints,Defense TD's and big hits.(I will say the intent to knock someone out of the Game with a late hit is over the line and cheap)

Ewok
I see no way in **** Vilma gets cut, he's one of the best young linebackers in the league and he is their playcaller on defense. Also, too much of him in the news right now for TD and Blank's re-construction of the Dirty Birds. THE ICEMAN
So I guess were not bringing in Carl Nicks because he's a Saints to. And he knew what the D was doing as well.If Vilma did put $10,000 bounty out on brett frave then no but if he just collected for making plays like every other player did and like most other locker rooms do as well then I really don't see the problem here Vilma was a class guy in NY and a pretty good player.Like I said if the $10,000 thing is true then **** no, but I would feel much better with Vilma at MLB than Dent if Lofton walks Edited March 6, 2012 by joe 1982

Vilma is one of the more overrated defensive players in the game. Smart MLB who really understands what's happening on the field, and that makes up for his lack of talent, but still way overrated. And not saying that because he's a saint, I said it before he was traded to them as well.

Guest Fibonacci
Ok so what players hit. Illegal hits and injuries, ok i agree. But 90% of there hits were legal. No not all of them, but most of them were.Anyhow vilma would go cheap. Teams would be afraid to touch him. Also he would be even cheaper because he is going to miss games as well. So would you touch him for less then 4 and have him for four years. Cause i do not seen anyone cheaper who would do better. And wasn't this board a fan of big hits when robinson took out philly?again i am not saying illegal or going out to hurt players. If this is to hard of a contact sport then maybe i suggest flag football. You can believe that now Goodell will bring in swifter suspensions, more flags, etc. He wants the nfl to be flaf football. With lawsuits about head injuries already and the very real possibility someone could die from a big hit, the league has to change or die.
