Doesn't paying players under the table on top of their salary constitute breaking salary cap restrictions!!??There are so many layers to this cheating fiasco that I hadn't given more than surface thought to.I think once all the layers of cheating in this manner are brought to the surface, it will be much more than some swampers' assertion that this is "no big deal." Falconcheff Posted March 3, 2012 Author Share Posted March 3, 2012 Of course it does but, technically they cannot not prove if it was the players own salary that was already accounted for when they pitched it into the hurt someone pool!The NFL's report states that money was contributed by outside sources as well as from coaches, and Williams has confirmed that in his apology.It was not all players' money... Yes, this violates the salary cap rules and I feel doing so warrants a strip of the title. Just like the Broncos in 98 (but that's a different matter). ANd I really don't care if the money paid put the Aints over the cap, it was still hidden income from the league.Trying to hurt others is absolutely classless. Trouble Posted March 4, 2012 Share Posted March 4, 2012 There is so many layers to this cheating, that its embarrassing to the NFL. Thats why the Saints FO rushed to try and say sorry. They wanna sweep it under the rug before more stuff comes out. They know the faster punishment gets served the less likely people will figure out just how serious all this stuff is when added up.
