Falconsfan567
I'm surprised ATL topped Cleveland....Well they make a big deal out of being good and then blowing it in the playoffs and that's why Atlanta is #1. Cleveland sports teams are never good.

muskokas finest ©
In North America, Toronto is the worst. Jays are average, Leafs and Raptors woeful.
Goal2Go
Hope the Falcons don't turn into the Braves.I hope the falcons do turn into the Braves for a decade or so. At least that means the Falcons will see at least one super bowl victory and numerous other championship games. :-) I am of course speaking in terms of the 90's Braves and not the current regime.I still think things are going to be better this coming year. No lock out, new coaching exc... we can always dream right??GO FALCONS!!
Falconsfan567
You're surprised? Atlanta has been atop just about everybody's list for years...This has nothing to do with fan support like all other lists that Atlanta is #1 on. This is purely based on what happens on the field. MattRyansArm
Something about all ATL teams seem SO boring. No swagger, no passion, and no fun. Not just the Falcons, but every team there. Not even the media has ever been interested in covering the city.
Atl/0
Something about all ATL teams seem SO boring. No swagger, no passion, and no fun. Not just the Falcons, but every team there. Not even the media has ever been interested in covering the city.Your right. I think the Hawks are the only team close enough to draw some buzz around here. They are one big name away from becoming a hot team. If we were to have gotten Dwight Howard or Chris Paul this city would have been Hawks crazy this year. Guest Fibonacci
you know I used to care about things like this, but now I just care about myself. As long as I show up to games on time, then I am doing my job. Not saying this in a rude way way, but are you going to do about? Are you going to make sure you are there on time, or are you going to keep making post and complaining?

Big_D
Well they make a big deal out of being good and then blowing it in the playoffs and that's why Atlanta is #1. Cleveland sports teams are never good. What the article was saying was ........... Atlanta has good teams that broke peoples hearts by losing in the final playoffs. Not that we are a City of bad teams or teams that are never good. I have to agree with them on this point, especially when the Falcons were on the cusp of going to the SB and then squated and laid an egg. Rajhae Battle
After reading the article, I see they were saying that Atlanta has teams that are good enough to compete for championships, but fall short thus causing heartache & "misery" to the fans of the ATL. I still don't agree with that premise. I've been a fan of the Braves,Hawks,& Falcons all my life, & I remember years of futility from all of our franchises. These last few years all of our teams have competed. Yeah they let us down, but that's only because we had some belief they could win.hence the article's point. I'd rather be in the running with a 50/50 chance of winning then rooting for teams we know have no chance to even compete for titles. phattywankenobi
Man....... That's cold! I knew your fans cried alot but... Miserable ? Another swamp rat showing off his literacy skills. They were voted in the top because the hockey team was mismanaged financially and left. What major sports does New Orleans have? Football, basketball, and gator rastlin'. It does not compare fandom.Did you happen to notice this part? "Our unique sports misery methodology isn’t focused on long-term futility, as epitomized by such teams as the L.A. Clippers, Baltimore Orioles, and until recently, the New Orleans Saints. " Again you bandwagon jumpers fail to realize there was a team prior to 2005. Guest Gritz
Man, that whole 'Atlanta sucks as a sports town' and 'Atlanta fans suck' storyline is so played out.Whenever one of these stories inevitably crop up I always believe that the writer(s) just have flat run out of material............again. PokerSteve
You're surprised? Atlanta has been atop just about everybody's list for years...Agreed. The fact that Atlanta sports teams have typically not been competitive in championship games/world series is not exactly earthshaking news... g-dawg
San Diego was in the top 5.yeah, I love San Diego - been there twice and great place to visit (only $$$$$$ too expensive to live there) but San Diego is miserable sports town - much worse than Atlanta. I just found it funny that a San Diego Falcons fan would be the first to point this out. Those not in Atlanta usually do.
N.O.L.A BOI
Again you bandwagon jumpers fail to realize there was a team prior to 2005.I know we had a team before 2005. Your funny that means before 05 we both were bad teams! But we've been a successful team that's been to 2 division championships and won a superbowl and contend every year for almost a decade. How far do you want us to go back so we can compare our teams to eachother? It is 2012, kill yaself miserable fan. In one year you've been told your teams are miserable and your Fanbase is the worst and dnt deserve a NFL franchise!! Man, I'm loving it. Forbes very loosely decided Atlanta was at the top of the "miserable" list because they lost their hockey team. Not due to attendance but because the owners were a bunch of morons. Now how does that compare to New Orleans who does not have a hockey team or baseball team for that matter to lose?I believe they tried hockey in New Orleans once but the locals got confused by the puck and started screamin' "Chute 'em, chute 'em" ending up with holes from shotgun fire in the ice. The hockey players quickly learned the difference between French Canadian and French Redneck.
