X-Man21
Idk if you guys look at bleacherreport at all, but they have Svitek ranked 13th out of 32 Left Tackles in the league... Not Bad at all in fact It was a little surprising since a lot of us bashed him at times throughout the season; here is the link and post.http://m.bleacherreport.com/articles/1061841-br-nfl-1000-top-32-left-tackles/page/21Your thoughts! Should we start him even if we bring in another LT from FA?
red falcon
I still haven't watched the giants game, had Air Guard. Other than that game he was pretty solid all year.
falcon057
He was listed on I Report with groin the last 4 games.
vdove0926
I want a true stud LT but Svitek is a smart player and if the screen game is going to be a good part of our offense then I believe he can use that to his advantage.

I think he is a good stop gap guy but I don't think he is a true bookend LT.
Atlfanstckndenver
^^what he said.... Its really nice to have a guy like Sviteck to use if neccessary, but im not sure i want him as our only permanent option at the position.

Falcon Fanatic
We were **** lucky to have a guy like Svitek on our roster last season. With a full training camp he can be even better but I still want us to pursue a OT in FA to create competition and guard against potential injuries. It would be hilarious. Edited February 23, 2012 by hjerry
ltstorm2
I think he's servicable enough that we should focus on upgrades at C and RG. We are really weak in the middle of our line.
vel
I like Svitek but I still think taking a shot with McNeil would be better than standing pat. McNeil is a legit Pro Bowl LT, something we haven't had this millenium. How about we correct that here. If he gets injured, we know we have a very serviceable back up in Svitek. If not the FA.Mcclure's too weak. He's the braintrust of our line but he's also directly in the middle of all of 3rd and 4th and shorts that we havn't converted. I wouldn't be surprised if we resigned Mcclure for cheap and brought in Hawley for the 4th down plays since he gets more push, but right now Mcclure is the better pass blocker. FalconFanSince1970
We'll yall already know I love Vee Tek. Just a good overall story. I too believe he is better than many think. More than a stop gap. I think with a full offseason at LT and a new Oline coach he could end up being a top LT. Buddy got thrown to the wolves against DET and went six straight games before giving up a sack. That means he shut out Jared Allen, Dwight Freeney, Will Smith, Kyle Vandenbosch, Brooks Reed and Jason Jones. Dayum. He also had a couple more games against TB and NO without allowing a sack. He tailed off at the end of the year but I believe that was due to the groin injury he picked up in the HOU game.

hjerry
Svitek was better than BakerHold on Jedi. This is a thread about how GOOD Svitec is, and that's not actually a compliment. That's like saying Matt Ryan is better than John Parker Wilson or 1 million dollars is better than a quarter.
Free Radical
Articles from BR don't hold any more credibility than something written here. Svitek is a solid LT, but he's a stop gap option.

madman88
Numbers are just numbers... Its far easier to block when the QB is only taking mostly 3 step drops cause we cnt block long enough consiztently to drop back on 5 n 7 step drops...
