Idk if you guys look at bleacherreport at all, but they have Svitek ranked 13th out of 32 Left Tackles in the league... Not Bad at all in fact It was a little surprising since a lot of us bashed him at times throughout the season; here is the link and post.

Your thoughts! Should we start him even if we bring in another LT from FA?

I'm not saying this because I think Svitek wasnt good, but I don't trust bleacher report stats/articles. I think he is a good stop gap guy but I don't think he is a true bookend LT.

^^what he said.... Its really nice to have a guy like Sviteck to use if neccessary, but im not sure i want him as our only permanent option at the position.

I wouldn't mind signing Gaither if we had to, but IMO if that signing doesn't pull through Svitek could be an unfinished project in the making his pass protection was decent (minus the Giants game)

We were **** lucky to have a guy like Svitek on our roster last season. With a full training camp he can be even better but I still want us to pursue a OT in FA to create competition and guard against potential injuries.

Perhaps someone less expensive if Gaither's asking price is high, Anthony Collins?

I would just relish the storm that would arise on this board if someone who was predicted to be picked in round 2 but went in round 4, became our LT, after we gave away our 2nd round picks that year to get Baker. It would be hilarious.

I like Svitek but I still think taking a shot with McNeil would be better than standing pat. McNeil is a legit Pro Bowl LT, something we haven't had this millenium. How about we correct that here. If he gets injured, we know we have a very serviceable back up in Svitek.

I think he's servicable enough that we should focus on upgrades at C and RG. We are really weak in the middle of our line.

Mcclure is good for at least another year or two then after that Hawley will take over, and hopefully Jackson or Johnson can step up at G. If not the FA.

Mcclure's too weak. He's the braintrust of our line but he's also directly in the middle of all of 3rd and 4th and shorts that we havn't converted.

I think though, that's why we drafted Hawley and Johnson was to get bigger across the line. I wouldn't be surprised if we resigned Mcclure for cheap and brought in Hawley for the 4th down plays since he gets more push, but right now Mcclure is the better pass blocker.

We'll yall already know I love Vee Tek. Just a good overall story. I too believe he is better than many think. More than a stop gap. I think with a full offseason at LT and a new Oline coach he could end up being a top LT. Buddy got thrown to the wolves against DET and went six straight games before giving up a sack. That means he shut out Jared Allen, Dwight Freeney, Will Smith, Kyle Vandenbosch, Brooks Reed and Jason Jones. Dayum. He also had a couple more games against TB and NO without allowing a sack. He tailed off at the end of the year but I believe that was due to the groin injury he picked up in the HOU game.

Ranked 50th out of 76 OTs with a -9.8 rating. Six spots above Sam Baker at -14.4.

3 sacks, 8 QB hits, 20 pressures allowed. Compared to Baker's 4, 7, 17 line.

Do have these per game. I want to know how he did outside the Giants game, since in that game, everyone was terrible.
