And lay off the stats. It's a horrible argument. I dont have any personal ties to aby players, n would b happy if they came.back,if.not best of luck to em, thx for your contribution to the ATL. The Falcon Jedi Knight
why dont you write a heartfelt poem then. This is football. Winning is all that matters.
Swift&Change
good post man ..anyone happy about losing Grimes, Abe or Lofton need to be spit on ..lolThey have been pros for our franchise and played their *** off ...If Perria Jerry or Sam Baker or Dunta leave this franchise I can understand happiness but losing hard working good football players is nothing to be happy about
Falkonator
Yea winning matters, respect does too. It's not one players fault for losing a TEAM sport, and not every team can win it all each season. To bash one player because he won't be brought back, shows the lack of respect one shows not only for that player bit for the sport itself. kane#7
Only reason I can be happy at losing these players is because it will open up cap room so our team can improve...I hope they go have good careers somewhere else but I want the best team possible.... If that means letting go of guys who have given a lot to this team then so be it.
The Falcon Jedi Knight
im a cold, heartless ******* when it comes to Atlanta sports because they made me this way every season for 40 years.... so i could give 2 turds what you think of my attitude towards this team. When they figure out a way to Win and not embarass the city of Atlanta (Superbowl, past 2 Playoffs), then I might be a little more respectful. Until then ill be sure to send Abraham and Brooking and the rest of those guys who couldnt care less what I think a Hallmark card.

FalconFanSince1970
Face it.Most of our message boarders are Generation X and Y.Microwave society. Locked on skill players. Don't really know what it takes to win.All of us have our own plan for the 2012 Falcons. None of them line up. TD's plan is even more different.Grimes, Lofton, Abe, Mario camps poppin up everywhere. All I want is a Lombardi. Just one folks. That's all I want. Hopefully by February 2013.I'll take a 4-3, 3-4, 5-2. 11-0, power run, run and shoot, chuck and duck, bombs away, it really don't matter.I need rest. I got ten more years but that's about it for me. The Don™
Yeah, it's absolutely ridiculous. It's OK to constructively criticize and analyze why he should be brought back or let go. You know, FOOTBALL talk. But bashing and blindly criticizing b/c they MAY leave for another team is stupid and childish.
PokerSteve
Maybe I would feel differently if this were 1968, when players were playing for peanuts, their town, their teammates and their love of football were their motivation. Today it's a business and a lot of the players you all are in mourning over have made it abundantly clear this is a business for them and they're PLAYING FOR THE MONEY. How many times has some Falcon free agent said, "NO HOMETOWN DISCOUNT!" in the last week? You think they give a flying eff about Atlanta's fans? Please get real and save your mauldlin sentimentality for your dog and your favorite coffee mug. It no longer has a place in a discussion of players in the NFL. If you want to keep the same team and expect different results than 3 of the last 4 years, I would call you insane. Falcons need to take steps to improve. New coordinators are part of that process and so are different players. Falcons are a good team, but good is also the enemy of great. Our free agents are done in terms of the obligations the Falcons have towards them. They are free to move on and so are the Falcons, I have no problem with that. red falcon
If they stay they stay, if not oh well. It is a GAME after all. They're out at the club putting dollar bills in a stripper's g string while we're getting ready for bed so we can go to work tomorrow. Trust me they won't lose any sleep and neither should you. Root for the falcons, I'm not going to bash them if they play for someone else, unless your keith brooking(s).

If that means letting go of guys who have given a lot to this team then so be it.I agree again, I wish them the best of luck, but fans need to realize that 95% of the players are in this game strickly for the money which is why Abe will go to another team. (it's for the money)He won't stay here for the fans who love him dearly (it's for the money) 95% will tell you it's just business and thats how they feel. If we get better players and our team plays better, then the fans will feel better too.For me, anytime we can improve our team, I'am all for it. If it wasn't about winning, then nobody would get upset when we loose.

Aftermath
I have no loyalty to the guys on the roster, would I be sad to see a few go, yeah, but I don't care who leaves and who comes in as long as we keep getting better. Just because a guy has been a Falcon for a few years doesn't really mean much, if we can get better by kicking a few fan favorites to the curb then so be it, I wont shed a tear. In my experience loyalty to individual players tends to get in the way of objectivity and rationality (see Mike Smith & TD). I like to pretend like being a hardcore Falcons fan doesn't mean I have to beat my pecker against the wall and cry foul every time someone makes a suggestion, or god forbid contemplates the future without one of our precious 53.
