King Syrup Golden 32 Oz
yea i stand as a fan of this team for over 15 years that has watched their pass D suck and wants them to get better! conversation over!Conversation over?! why...because you can't answer...dude I'm not trying to antagonize you. I'm only trying to dialogue intelligently with you. If you have been a fan for over 15 years (by the way what the sam **** does that mean? if it's over 15...why not just say 16? Are you seriously counting months?) then you certainly should have an opinion to share. To say... "I believe purple monkeys grow mushrooms" is cool and all, but if someone asks you why you believe that...you should have an answer. That kinda shows you arrived there intelligently. If you haven't any reason why, and then abruptly end the conver sation...well then...
tobyd77
Whoa! like i said PERSONALLY I DON'T THINK! I'm a grown man that can express my opinion. Thats what these boards are for. I think Grimes is too small to play man! If you don't like my opinion then that's too bad. I was and am thinking for myself.I think Grimes is a good CB but not one that deserves a huge payday. And the visual proof is the times Grimes got burnt for Td's last year while playing man. The proof would be that our D finished 20th if Opp passing yardsI have to bag the differ on that cause grimes did not get burned liked that and despite his absence in 4 games he still had an impressive year. I just read the stats on him for 2011 and they were highly impressive. This is according to profootballfocus a very reliable stat tracking source reported through the bleacher report.http://bleacherreport.com/articles/1063926-nfl-free-agency-2012-6-free-agents-that-wont-get-the-top-money-they-deserve

cooperbh
It's just a shame it wasn't taken care of a long time ago. It's too bad.Grimes wasn't very good a long time ago. I can't blame the FO too much for making him prove that 2010 wasn't a fluke.

cooperbh
It was obvious the guy was a player in 2009. They blew this one. He'll be in a different uniform next year. It's too bad.Sure, there were times he flashed that season. And then there were times (and there were plenty of them) that he reminded you why the Falcons had to emergency sign Brian Williams at the end of preseason to play the position that was Grimes' to lose.Grimes was anything but consistent until his 2011 season, which I have to admit was very impressive. It's a shame Grimes didn't round into shut down form until his final year under contract. But I blame Grimes for that, not the FO. Made game changing plays constantly.
cooperbh
Grimes made the Pro Bowl in 2010. He was fantastic in 2010. Made game changing plays constantly.Actually, he was a Pro Bowl alternate placed there by his head coach - not that I put much stock in Pro Bowl selections anyway. More importantly, Grimes allowed 60 receptions and was 3rd among CBs in missed tackles in 2010, which somewhat tempers his impressive PD and INT totals. Those boom-or-bust numbers help explain why no team in the league was willing to give up a first round draft pick for Grimes during the 2011 offseason. The bottom line is that there was no way we were getting Grimes on the cheap after his 2010 season. If we were going to be paying him big money anyway, might as well make him prove he is worth it first (Which he most certainly did with his 33 reception pace in '11. Wow.) TheBoss706
You all fail to realize that Brent Grimes is not looking to be in this for the team's sake...he is just wanting a sustaining contract....im not taking anything away from Grimes because he was awesome last year, but everybody fails to see that Brent CHOSE to play against the Saints, take a break for the Bucs and then CHOOSE NOT to play against the Giants after we had already clinched a playoff spot. Why would you play choose to play a regular season heavy hitting team, choose to rest against a garbage team, but then choose not to play in the 1st round of the playoffs???
