TheRidder
We would have a great Linebacking Corps Than Spoon, Chowder, and Wimbley. We could add Crowder and Wimbley for cheaper than we could resign Lofton. We Could also then sign Laron Landry to an Incentive Based Contract and Add a Corner like Brandon Carr instead of resigning grimes. And instead of resigning abe sign Robert Mathis. Our Defense Would Look Like This S S Landry Moore CB CBRobinson Carr MLB OLB Crowder OLB Wimbley Weatherspoon DE DT DT DE Edwards Peters Babineaux MathisWhat do you guys think? Knight of God
Not sure how popular this will be, but it would actually work in Nolan's system.
Master Exploder
I doubt we're going to find a bargain on Wimbley, Landry, or Carr. Those guys are not cheap. I'm not even sure if Mathis will be found at a bargain... These are all big name guys that will cost a lot of money. It would be nice though. jgator21
I like the thought for sure. Not sure we could pull that off but its a good plan
DirtyBirdDynasty
Did the Raiders cut Wimbley? He's not set to hit FA, and he's their only pass rusher. He would play DE, not OLB for us.Crowder is terrible and wasn't even in the NFL last season. LB is our deepest position. Lofton is a must to resign and he and Spoon are 2 outstanding young LBs. We also have Nicholas as a good 3rd LB and good depth behind him
DirtyBirdDynasty
Wimbley would be a great pickup for DE but unless they cut him recently hes not available. Like I said Crowder is garbage and we dont need him.We already have a great young SS in Moore (our most talented DB) and signing Landry would mean 1 of them would be out of position. Wed be better off signing an actual FS like Michael Griffin who doesnt expect to be resigned and would be a great fit.Carr will require a big deal like Grimes not worth the money our DL is a much bigger need we need to add an impact pass rusher and mayb e a DT as well. The OL needs big upgrades too. I'd rather see if Franks can take the #2 spot he's got good size and ball skills, add a vet FA and a rookie to the mix.Mathis is unlikely to hit FA and will probably be tagged. He and Freeney are all they have on D. Mario Williams seems likely to hit FA the Texans cant tag him, Cliff Avril from the Lions as well
kiwifalcon
I'm not quite ready to put Lofton out to pasture yet as I've noticed alot of the AFMB has I think i'll wait and see.Roll on the 13th of March.
UK13
NFL network mentioned the Raiders might have to move Rolondo McClain because of money issues (any thoughts on him) or is he somewhat of a bust

k-train
http://www.al.com/sports/index.ssf/2011/12/former_alabama_linebacker_rola.htmlI think this answers any question about McClain coming here.If this is true, that dude is a major P.O.S. deester11
I don't get the infatuation with Crowder at all! I've watched enough Dolphin games to tell you guys that he was a loudmouth, overrated, jump on the pile, no impact player. Posted again from Phinsiders:"After six years as a starting linebacker for the Dolphins, Crowder has accumulated just 2.5 sacks, 15 tackles for loss, 3 forced fumbles, and 1 interception. Consider this fact. Karlos Dansby, in one season as a Dolphin, has accumulated more sacks and over a third of the tackles for loss that Crowder has accumulated in his entire career."Maybe Mike can get something out of him, but if anyone in AFMB land thinks this guy is an upgrade over Lofton...Don't get your hopes up. Crowder is good depth, he's like a younger, less talented version of Mike Peterson and he would probably have a similar, yet reduced role on our team. When things don't go well though, prepare for MeAngelo Hall type talking. LOL
didz
Your on the right track. I love the idea of adding that physical size and intimidation to our defense. Crowder and Wimbley would finally give this team that mojo they have needed since the beginning of time
Tribal Chief
If anything you throw Wimberly back on the line playing 4-3. If we converted to 3-4 full time it would be perfect

I think he would be a perfect Mike Nolan guy, but he's not even available...
autigerfan
Crowder would make some sense given his ties to Mike Nolan but I would much rather focus on re-upping Lofton and only looking at Crowder as a fallback/depth. He would definitely make a good 4th backer to replace peterson. As far as Wimbley goes I am against it as he is a much better fit in a 3-4 front. I would rather take that money and go after Mario. Butudontseeme™
Brandon Carr will not come cheap. He will probably be as expensive as Grimes or close.
