Are Dimitroff, Smitty And Matty Ice Still Right For The Falcons?

I noticed he did not reply to this. And good he didnt, because I would have to rebuke his list I am sure. My list... with no Manning until I see him actually step on the field.

1. Brees

2. Rodgers

3. Brady

4. E. Manning

5. Stafford

6. Roethlisberger

7. Romo

8. Rivers

9. Ryan

10. Cutler or Schaub

really after 6 you can make an argument to swap them all around IMO.

And yes, I have Romo that high. I cant stand him, but when he is 'on' he is as dominating as Rodgers, he just is not as consistent.

I have a hard time putting Stafford that high. He is a really good QB. But 5, over Big Ben who has rings, is pretty bold. I know it's just opinion, but I think he is really helped by having Megatron, the most unguardable player in the league. Plus, they had no running game so they had to lean solely on the passing game for any kind of offense, hence the high numbers. Take Turner away and add 500 yards to Ryan's numbers and you got the same thing. I'd put him 7 or 8 on your list for now. Not top 5.

It's almost as if people have amnesia. Does anyone remember what this franchise was like before Dimitroff, Smith and Ryan came along?

If you have a problem with them, you are either an idiot or a troll, or both.

Well Mr. Smiley, is it neccessary to toss about insults to fellow posters, because some are tired of the losing mentality that has defined this franchise for so many years, and and have voiced their displeasure? Do we just settle for the recent successes, or do we aspire for greater things? Is this such a terrible thing? Hopefully the powers to be don't believe don't share your sentiments, otherwise, look for a repeat of our horrid past. Contentment breeds complacency, so I'm told.

I hear you on Stafford. I agree he does have Megatron, but he didnt throw for 5000+ yards to him alone. He also did it with no running game at all.

It does make sense to put Ben above Stafford. I typed this off the top of my head, and would not object to swapping the two.

I have always thought his only weakness was injuries. And I am not a UGA guy before it gets thrown out there by someone, lol.

If TD, Smith and Ryan aren't the answer, we're screwed for another 5-7 years. They'll get a pass for at least one year, maybe two because of new coordinators, then another regime will tear the team down and rebuild it, take another 2-3 years to build it back up, probably more time after that to actually win anything.

I think though, that they are indeed still the men for the job. Think what next year will show is that TD has been drafting better than it seems and different schemes will allow several players already on the roster to thrive.

Specifically, the youngsters on the Oline- Johnson, Hawley, Jackson, Reynolds, skill players like HD, Rodgers, Weems & Meier.

On D, think Sidbury, Biermann, Owens, Franks, Walls even Decoud & Jerry.

Obviously, not all will thrive, but if 5-7 of them do, that makes this team solid.

Think Smith has to let the coordinators run much more aggressive schemes on both sides of the ball. The schemes they had worked for a young team with a young QB, now something more is needed. Betting that Blank has had a talk with Smith where he told him exactly that.

Ryan is going to get a scheme much more suited to his game and , probably, another Oline piece or two. There'll be lots of 3-4 WR sets, a deep route on every play to stretch the field horizontally and routes to stretch it vertically as well. It'll be an offense designed for YAC, instead of for 4 yards at a time.

He has to step up his game, make better deep throws [he's not nearly as bad as some think, but he needs to be better], not feel pressure that isn't there, and especially in the playoffs, take this team on his back.

How many times are we gonna see a similar thread to this one? Every other day it's another thread talking about how Smitty, Ryan and TD suck and they need to leave.. blah, blah, blah. It's really getting annoying reading the same shittt every single day. Just shut the fucckk up and face it that the HC, GM & QB are here to stay!

Back up your opinion and name 10 QBs that are better then him.

He can't. No one can. People insist that he's not a top 10 QB (Mostly because not everyone watches regular season games yet insists on watching him during the post-season), yet can't even name 8 to save their lives. I even heard someone say Flacco is better than Brady because he had a better game than Tom when they faced the patriots. Lmao, the Patriots have the worst defense in the league.

Yep and while it's a well written article, I frickin hate the insinuations from Bradley. No it's not enough but look at how many teams haven't sniffed the playoffs since 2008 . These guys deserve 1-2 years if not more to "turn it around". After the Petrino/Vickalypse nobody would have thought anything if this team was just now reaching the playoffs, not to mention what GM Headcoach and QB is going to come here after they jettison the previous regime after its most prosperous 4 year span ever. Blank would have to over pay much like the Smiths always had to do to attract talent, not the direction this team

Has to go. To me they have two years minimum.

Yea I know he didn't throw all 5000 to Megatron, but having no running game helped his numbers. That's all I'm saying. It's not like Brees, who had a top 10 running game and still broke the record. Stafford WAS the offense and had to do it all. That's why I give him his props, but if they had a running game to carry some of the load, I don't think he breaks 5000.

Bradley is pretty much spot on in his article, which i think he trolled this board a little for most of what he wrote - which is fine that he copied some of my posts.

2008 was Ryan's best season, and our team overall. Since then things got more and more conservative and vanilla, and that wont Win in the NFL.

What are you smoking?

Which is precisely why people should stop bitching about the only people who have brought perennial success to this franchise. And they aren't repeating our "horrid past", which is evidenced by the fact that we have 4 straight winning seasons- a feat no other gm, coach or qb has been able to accomplish with this franchise. This is why I can't take the complainers/criers seriously. We are in a better position now than we ever have been and some people just want to *****. That's why I think they are idiots or trolls, or both. Sorry for partying.....

Don't event fooking go there! You, and the vast majority of the this Message board don't even have a clue. Perrential success, whatever that means, is irrelvant in the grand scheme of things. Playoff wins, and, ultimately a SB is all that matters, and you just don't get it.

I don't have a clue? Try utilizing spell check before you call others out for "not having a clue". For the love of god....
