Hines Ward For Slot?> Moss

Speaking of compelling arguments and veteran receivers, John Manasso makes a pretty strong case that the Falcons should sign Hines Ward if, as is expected, he is released by the Pittsburgh Steelers. My first reaction was that the Falcons really don’t need to add a receiver who is about to turn 36. But Manasso points to Ward’s strong roots to the Atlanta area, his reputation as a locker-room leader and his experience as a winner. It’s tough to argue that the Falcons couldn’t use a few more players who have experience winning in the postseason.

Humm?

Are you kidding me? Sing OLD MAN WARD...for what? I would rather over pay HD, than get OLD MAN at a discount. I would rather let HD walk and promote Kevin Cone vs. signing Ward. Lets look forward people, not set the team back with ridiculous ideas of that nature.....OLD MAN Ward...really?

Hines Ward has just announced publicly that he wants to retire as a PIT STEELER.

True. So: If PIT doesn't restructure his contract and lets him walk, then the Q is: does Hines retire (as a Steeler) or play somewhere else? If he plays, his is a UGA man, he might want to help out here. But I really don't see it happening.................

So let me get this straight. You want to trade our 30yr old RB and pick up an aged WR...

LOL ok this wr will cost about 1.5 to 2 mil. he has no trade value and doesn't require a 4 mill FB to help him. I know its tough but we have all young rec. and possiably no slot. Just window shopping

To answer the original question though I'd take Ward in a heartbeat over Moss. No way I want Moss anywhere near this team we already have one reciver who can't keep his mouth shut on I don't want another that's past his prime.

(And yes I know Ward likes to flap his gums a litttle too but at least its on the feild drama and not this twitter crap)

Give me a break.....

I watched a replay of a Pittsburg game where Hines Ward blindsided a player just standing there next to the sideline. He was hurt bad and Ward walks off with a big smile on his face. Apparently he thought it was quite funny, but I didn't. Since I didn't see the game, I don't know it was that took the hit, but I'am shure that there other posters on that are aware of it. Perhaps you saw it and thought it was ok.

Are you talking bout the gm vs the bengals when he blocked Keith Rivers, players get laid out all yhe time, I've seen way more cheap shots taken than that hit. Punters get cheap shores all the time, its a physical contact sport.

That player was just standing there looking the other way when ward hit him in the back running full speed. A lesser man could have got his back or neck broke, but to top it off, Ward walks away with a big smile on his face. Didn't even check to see if the dude was ok. Look man, I like a physical game as much as the next man, but I don't think that that dude was a part of the play. I wouldn't want to see a guy serriously hurt, and most football players wouldn't want it either.

No way, cheap shot artist.

Who the **** cares if he blindsides? Anyone who's played football has hit the **** out of someone illegally, or at least a blindside.

It wouldn't kill us if we got a receiver that can block and make/take hits.

T

hat's what happens you're standing around instead of going towards the ball. Never stand still, you're a still target.
