momak
Hey guys i just checked NFL draft world new mock draftI thought the trade between the Browns and Redskins was genius.Link to entire draft http://nfl-draft-world.com/Falcons picks are Pick 55 Atlanta Falcons .Offense Rank 10: Passing rank 8, Rushing rank 17Defense Rank 18: Passing rank 20, Rushing rank 6Team Needs: OT OG OC DB DE.Tony Gonzalez has made it official that this year will be his last. Why not draft his replacement have and have him learn from the best tight ever to play the game..With the 55th pick the Atlanta Falcons select:Coby Fleener, TE, Stanford Pick 85 Atlanta Falcons .Offense Rank 10: Passing rank 8, Rushing rank 17Defense Rank 18: Passing rank 20, Rushing rank 6Team Needs: OT OG OC DB DE.The Falcons had issues all year at right guard. Garrett Reynolds started the year but was benched due to his poor play Sam Baker tried out but that experiment failed and Joe Hawley finished they year but was below average..With the 85th pick the Atlanta Falcons select:Kevin Zeitler, G, Wisconsin
leftfield
From reports elsewhere Zeitler may be gone by the third his stock is rising up. There does seem to be some decent depth though at this position til the 5-6th rnds http://www.nfldraftscout.com/ratings/probe.php?genpos=OG&draftyear=2012&sortorder=tsxpos&order=ASCI like Desmond Wynn Rutgers (more here on Zeitler and others fromthe Shrine game) http://www.nfldraftscout.com/ratings/probe.php?genpos=OG&draftyear=2012&sortorder=tsxpos&order=ASC
DirtyBirdInThe610
I wish the FO would actually listen to the fans on this board more because **** near every person on these message boards at one time or another have made it clear that they want us to draft Coby Fleener and I'm one of the biggest supporters of picking him so why wait to get Tyler Eifert next year(if he even makes it to us)when we can get Fleener this year. I sincerely hope they NEVER make their decisions based on this board. If their draft ideas are coming from this board then TD should be fired. Threepac Daddy
the falcons should not draft a TE with their first pick when there is more glaring needs than a future TE. im all in favor for zeiter as one of the first two picks. need oline help badly and he would be a nice pickup

OL,CB and LB are bigger needs to me than TE. A guy I like in the 5th rd. is Aron White. Really overshadowed by Orson Charles. He's very athletic and was a better blocker than OC. Could be a nice pickup.

For one, CF is a very good blocker which translates to 2 TE sets which we can either power run out of or pass. The pats did very well with their 2 studs. Second with Julio the beast having another year under his belt, Roddy still at a high level and TG as a very reliable target--how the heck do defenses plan for an athletic TE who runs great routes and has YAC ability? Very tough. Lastly, TG will retire. And let's face it, he's still a very good TE, but he's not nearly the game changer that he was--but wouldn't it be great to get his replacement, work the replacement into the offense and learn from TG? And one more last note: Another tall security blanket for Matt never hurts
Threepac Daddy
also look at the pats QB and coaches, huge difference there. not saying that the falcons need a TE, they do just they have bigger holes to fill other than TE and Zeitler won be great here. btw i wanted hernandez back when he declared for the draft instead we got hawley. zeitler is my guy this year. sadly as a gator fan i think orson charles would be a better fit here than fleener. Then he TG JJ and RW can go out, run seven yard routes, then turn around just in time to see Ryan get sacked. Because our O line forever seems to get nothing but fifth and sixth round picks to be our tackles. I think its time TD worried about getting starters for our O line, now. We can replace TG next year. Falcon Fanatic
I like the way everybody just keeps right on wanting to pour every pick, every trade, every FA on the offense and completely say f the defense. If we take Fleener with our top pick I will call for TD to be fired. A TE? Are you f'n kidding me? Everybody calls for the same lame ******** every year... Rudolph was the flavor of the off season last year and we did not take him. The year before that it was Gresham, before that it was Pettigrew and we passed on them. Getting a good TE is easy to get and relatively cheap as far as FA goes. Why waste a pick on one?
