Okay I know, I'm already on 3.0 & 3.1 and we're still a month outside of FA. I feel like I'm constantly trying to update the roster with different scenarios to see where we could go so I figured I'd share. I'm going to show two different scenarios, one more realistic and one that is a little more optimistic. I included the numbers in both, so it's not like I just threw out names without backing it up with the finances. And I'm not including any trades of personnel or draft picks. We'll start with the more realistic.

Like the 3.1 better...but as far as the draft picks go, id take orson charles, tight end from UGA instead of the tight ends you have, but id stick with your 3rd round pick in boykin, thats if he makes it to the 3rd round.

also, why cut babs???and no mention of grimes..

Yep in 3.1 we let Grimes walk, take on a more man cover role with Dunta and Owens/Franks on the outside and Boykin/Franks as the NB. Babs didn't really produce as much last year and he's set to make a big salary, so cap casualty. I would rather cut him over Turner or Ovie honestly.

3.1 for me I like it all the way except for the Mughelli cut and the Grubbs signing we have the draft and internal competition to fix that problem we don't need to spend 5 mill per when we can fix it for between $500 K and mill with a draft pick I'd prefer that option and it leaves alot more cap flexibility.Mughelli I understand but he's a definite loss in pass protection and run blocking the dude does the unspectaculor stuff and if we could I'd keep Ovie.

I don't think we need to carry 5 DE's Nolan has stated he wants 3 down players in this scenario I think you let Biermann go and we have Matthews and Sidbury as backups.Sidbury is the wildcard if he pans out and Edwards gives us those 6-8 sacks as advertised this defensive front with those guys becomes our strength.

Like the Griffen pickup him or Nelson for me a centre fielder I like that this allow's Moore to come down and make plays and use his physicallity.

Yeah I hear you on the Grubbs signing. I think Nicks will be too expensive and I wanted to do something a little different from the mock before that where we address OG in the 2nd round. I thought about using that money to go after a huge NT/DT, but I think that Franklin would be serviceable for much less. You could use that money to go after Griffen if you wanted or pick up another CB. It would be nice to have a proven OG though that can come in and produce.

I can't see us cutting Babs. Last year is the only year he has had much trouble with injuries and he is probably our most productive returrning d-lineman. We would be taking a big risk that Peria would finally come through for us. Ovie is probably the best bet to be cut among the three.

Yeah I understand. It wouldn't be just Peria and Peters though, in that particular mock I signed Aubrayo Franklin who would serve as Babs replacement on the roster.

Peria Jerry. The enigma. Every fiber in my being says cut him, injuries have taken their toll and in a nutshell, he is a never was.

But they must see SOMETHING in him to keep prolonging the experiment. I just wish I knew what it was. Maybe he has pictures of people with farm animals?

I agree, his cap hit is just not high enough to warrant cutting. I don't expect him to have a miraculous comeback, but who knows.
