Big_D
His performance may have hit a lul but he's definitely got one more great year ahead with us.
sandiegofalcon
I'm not for getting rid of him, but his 7.5 mil cap hit is high. Hopefully Koetter uses him right and we will all be huge Turner supporters again
Dharma Initiative
Who led the NFC in rushing this past season?I think a lot of people forget.
Knight of God
I had heard that he was being shopped, but that may no longer be the case. I'll know by this evening.
UnrealfalcoN
People need to realize this- Yes turner gets stuffed ALOT. But the Offensive line that shatters around Ryan is the same offensive line trying to create space for Turner. Turner leads the league every year in yards after 1st contact. He isn't as fast as he was before, but the guy is still an excellent RB. We must keep him while grooming the next guy.

Rajhae Battle
Who do you replace him with? Snelling is a great backup but i don't see them building the running game around him. Quizz isn't ready yet, or built for the everydown punishment. I havn't seen enough of the other guys. Add in the cap hit, & you are looking at trying to draft a low round rb. I see no reason not to keep him for at least 1 more year
sandiegofalcon
True he led the NFC in rushing, but when you factor in his number of carries and lack of receiving production, it doesn't look as good. Guys like AP, Forte would have easily passed him and McCoy have nearly the same production with 30 less carries. To top that off all of these guys and more than add to their value with around 500 receiving yards

Steel City Falcon
Realistically he had one good year in 2008... Then he got fat an lazy has been going down hill. He's a front runner. Doesn't show up in big games and beats up on lesser teams.. Just like John Abraham.. Not trollin just stating the facts.
sandiegofalcon
It is what it is.Laughable.It's obvious that you like Turner, just like most of us, but it's very easy to see that he has slowed down significantly and will never be a "burner" again

But he still had quite a few 20+ runs and an 81yarder so I don't get you guys. Our win % was higher when he had 21+ touches. What are you saying exactly? What? Really? 4.5 yds per carry. 11TDs. What do you want? Its not about like. I like a lot of guys I have wanted gone, but what is it about him that makes some of you brain fart so seriously? atljbo
I also think its more about us not being in position to draft (limited picks) a high round RB (2nd or 3rdf round) ... We have bigger needs..

I like a lot of guys I have wanted gone, but what is it about him that makes some of you brain fart so seriously?Because the NFL running back that succeeds these days are versatile. Running a bruiser up the middle doesn't work anymore this day and age despite your stat of 21+ touches. That stat is so flawed and irrelevant. He got the 21+ carries as a result of us winning the game, not the other way around. His big runs had a lot to do with the blocking schemes and wide open holes on the run. In fact, Snelling and Quiz could have gotten just as far and probably further than Turner on those runs. Indeed he was an animal in 2008 but those days have come and gone. This isn't his team anymore.
sandiegofalcon
any running back will produce yards if you pound them into the ground and give them a hole every now and then. But imagine all the "stats" the other top 8-10 rbs in the NFL would have put up if they were in Turner's situation this year. Those 20+ yard runs turn into 80 yard touch downs. Jah
Most quarterbacks have a running back that they can dump the ball off to, when protection breaks down. The fact that Ryan cannot do that when Turner is in the game is a huge disadvantage. The Turner fanboys refuse to acknowledge this glaring weakness. tobyd77
I 've been having mixed emotions about this all day but I remember before MJD took over Koetter teamed him up with fred taylor when Koetter was the OC there then they cut him but the 2 together made the jags 7th overall rushing the ball. tobyd77
I think that they will work with Turner on catching the ball out of the backfield more because more emphasis will probably be put on it during the offseason.
