slewis1952
All the other good teams had no running game and great passing. Saints, no running game. Green Bay, no running game, the Giants and the Pats, no running game. Atlanta, pound it up the middle with Turner. This is the reason we aren't elite. The league changes but we don't!! The league changes but we don't!!Ugh the Giants went on a six game winning streak when they started running the ball. They ran it 28 times yesterday at a 4.0 ypc clip and scored the winning TD on a running play. The Saints have a good running game and have been trying their damndest to beef it up even more. The team that should have represented the AFC is a running team. And so is the team that nearly knocked off the Giants in the NFCCG.

If you think that, you are so misinformed and lose credibility for me. Edited February 6, 2012 by Chitown2ATL_Falcon
MilleniumFalcon
Saints had an excellent running game this year.
vel
Saints running game was better than ours this year. Pats averaged only 4 yards less than us this year.

The league changes but we don't!!we didn't become successful until our running game picked up...you'll need Aaron Rodgers or Tom Brady to have an offense like they do.Only time the saints won a ring is when they had a very successful running game.Being balanced is a MAJOR plus. You guys just need ANOTHER running back to take some series away from Turner. Have a change of pace. Thats how u beat high octane offenses, to be able to eat the clock up

The Packers in 2010 also picked up steam when their running game picked up, they lacked a running game in the playoffs and look at what happened. Guest Negatorris
The Giants torched us on the ground. Same with the Packers. Not so much the Niners, but they burned the Pats too. Suddenly they started beating everyone once their RBs were healthy and they got a running game again. And the Saints have an excellent running game. What are you talking about man? fansince78
It is more a matter of being able to call plays that aren't running plays 100% of the time the opposing defense expects. I think they covered that when Mularkey left. Running the ball is an important aspect of the game...it just isn't always the best play on 1st down. Chain Chomp
I respectfully disagree. Like others have said, some of the teams you mentioned have very successful running games. Granted, the teams listed are passing teams as well, but they do have a balanced run system. When those teams did get a run going, for the most part, they were very successful and most likely would get a win.
kane#7
Look at pass rush vs the recent superbowl contenders to see a better trend.
aerosmith67
466 yards in 4 games, 116.5 ypg, would move the Giants up 16 spots if they had the same production during the regular season.
slewis1952
My point is, we don't have the defensive line to stop people, we don't have the OL to support a top running game, and by controling the ball with short passes, we admit that our passing game lacks down-the-field ability. The Giants can throw and can stop the best of teams with their defense. BTW, I am a Falcons fan and a season ticket holder and a realist.
