vel
I am not the one to suggest a trade like this. But having an early morning hangover, you don't think the best lolSo watching ESPN and they said that this may be the last game for some Giants players. It made me think about us "looking" at Osi last year. He has 1 year on his contract. But they also may lose Brandon Jacobs, per the same source. I don't know what they are basing it on but who cares. So, it made me think about this potential trade. No I am not saying it will happen let alone is it possible. This is just pure fun and will probably get swept to page 2 in 5 minutes. But this would be like the Portis-Bailey trade with the Broncos and Redskins a while ago. Both players are 30. Turner's contract has 2 years vs Osi's 1 year so this clearly assumes a contract is in the works for Osi. Turner would be a better RBBC fit for the Giants than Jacobs is. Osi would get us our pass rush and save money on signing Abe. Technically a win win for us, even though I do honestly think we would lose initially. But getting rid of Turner before he tanks vs holding him and he tanks with us is a sticky situation.Just pure speculation.
#1 pick
NY would die laughing at this offer. No one will trade you a declining RB for a top tier declining DE.Will we trade Abe for Steven Jackson? raysnill1
simple ... nololI for one wanna see Turner, Tony G, Roddy, Julio, HD & Quizz used in the same offense at least for a year. I like Osi and wouldn't mind having him but not at the expense of Turner

FootballRealist
Some of you people dont think this **** through with your mock off season ..Lets take 1 sured up position on our team lets create a hole in that position to sure up another hole on the team . So then who will be our rb ? Jaquizz Rodgers lol
UK13
Why would they do that maybe you didn't know about that little RB they have named Jacobs

I feel like we'd get more years out of Jackson than what Abe has left. And that's why I'd give Turner for Osi, because it is hard to get a good DE. TheEvilDead1983
the giants would have to be pretty stupid to accept that trade. they already have a big slow running back

tobyd77
No one is talking about this and I have been posting it for about 2 weeks now on other topics but I can potentially see this happening. i remember an article on Stephen Nichloas when he was getting ready to hit the FA market for the 2011 season saying that he would be interested in going to Detroit to play with Suh. Zach Brown, LB, North CarolinaDetroit again will go into the 2012 season with perhaps the best front four in the NFL. Martin Mayhew and Jim Schwartz calculated well that the secondary would make strides after being such a weakness in previous seasons. Where the Lions could use help is at linebacker, and Brown would be a good fit. Brown has great instincts as a rangy tackler, and he has a lot of speed and can run with tight ends. I certainly can see the Lions looking for help on the offensive line at this spot, but if a top tackle doesn't fall to them here, Brown makes sense. Now I see Mel kiper has them picking an LB with the 23 pick which means that they still have issues stopping the run and Nicholas can stop the run and cover and is only 28 plus he would be someone that the falcons can trade without suffering a hit toward the cap. Even though he signed for about 17.9 mil Detroit could afford this deal and the trade makes sense to get an experienced LB . Here is Nicholas during the offseason last year in 2011.http://www.thefalcoholic.com/2011/2/8/1982389/falcon-stephen-nicholas-lions-turning-things-aroundIt is just a thought but very posible and we pug Adkins or Dent in his place. Zodiac
I just hope Spags doesn't talk the Saints into trading for Osi.Saints have no pieces to trade for Osi, All their RBs are the exact same style as Bradshaw. NY is loaded at WR.The only thing I could see them trading Osi for is draft picks and Olineman
FlyHighFalcons
NY would die laughing at this offer. No one will trade you a declining RB for a top tier declining DE.Will we trade Abe for Steven Jackson?**** yes I'd deal Abe for Steven Jackson. Steven Jackson would be PERFECT for us. Can catch the ball and run the ball extremely well. We could sign a DE in FA or deal Turner for one after that.
Trouble
Unless Rich takes over as GM again, i dont see us making any crazy under contract player trades.TD might trade spots in the draft. No way the giants make that trade unless we included a rd 1 pick in 2013However, I would trade Abe for Steven Jackson I the blink of an eye. Sorry Abe. vel
It's funny how I say this is just a random thought and people get so upset about it. Yes, I know trading Turner away would create a void at RB, but we have lacked a pass rush for so long and it is a lot easier to find RBs than DEs, as we have seen. Of course the random troll or two would jump on this in a hurry. Trading Abe, a 34 year old DE, for Jackson, a 28 year old RB, is not the same scenario, just to clear that up. That would be a steal of a trade for us. Osi for Turner is more of a straight up trade.

Its so obvious to see that most of the people on here know vey little as about football and cant even comprehend what they srr watching the actual game. Anybody that thinks turnrr is a key piece to out team is stuck in 09 and if u think th he giants will give up one of the keys to their infamous pass rush for a tip toeing rb u cant be helped. Miss some the guys that used to post here that actually had some interesting ideas.
