Rai
I would not grade Ryan out ahead of Eli ..Also shocked Matt Moore over Romo and Staffordi think a big reason matt moore is high is because of his insane yards in air per completion average (passing yards minus yac). it was near 10 when the average is in the 7's. only eli was the other quarterback to get over 9, as far as i remember. as for stafford being off the top 10, i think they gave most of the credit to megatron coming down with the ball and there were some games which Romo single handedly lost. Zodiac
I think the whole Julio trade has completely ****** with everyones frame of mind with QBs and deep balls.Long Balls are a lot like 3PT shots, even the best ones only connect on around half of them while the good ones connect with around 40% of them and the so on and so forth, that being said Matt doesn't have a good deep ball, the guy is best suited for the intermediate range and letting his WRs get YAC, unfortunately Mularkey and his ******** *** route combinations completely killed our chances to get YAC. Izo#2883
Matt Ryan will never and I mean NEVER be able to make the throw Brady made in playoff game vs Den ..If you want to see skill set and a throw that is impressive ..This is a throw Matt Ryan is not capable of makingThis is a throw Ryan will never make going forward ..Its just not in his skill setPeep it ...55 seconds ..GREATNESSI do not want to come on as someone who only takes one of you're many arguments into account, but you are just so very wrong in this particular post that not pointing it out would be wrong.Peep at the 1:30 and 3:13 mark.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L6JcYKGeXFM&feature=relatedThat throw has been in his arsenal for a long time. Im surprised by you're comment since you are a 25+ year falcon fan. Clearly that type of throw should stick out no?
ltstorm2
I don't know of any Falcon fan that doesn't put any blame on Ryan, why some of you keep saying this BS is crazy. I only see about 10 posters that say the exact opposite, that isn't good.Secondly this is the AFMB, it is normal for fans of their team to overhype players on their team(although Ryan doesn't need overhyping). I'm fairly certain the majority of ya'll that did your Pro Bowl voting, picked some Falcons players that probably wern't the best but did anyways because they were Falcons players. You can look at polls from sports websites and its normal for people to vote positevely for their home team/state. What isn't normal is to talk trash or try and prove that Ryan is the worst QB in the league when he's clearly not. To talk trash only about Ryan when there are a lot of of players/coaches that deserve much criticism also. That isn't normal at all. Then to come on to the AFMB and say " I'm only doing this because other speak positively about Ryan" is f'n stupidddddddddddd. It's perfectly normal to support a QB that hasn't played bad and hope he can improve. It isn't normal to critcize and hate on a player based on the sole reason that other people like the player. That's Ebenezer Scrooge,Grinch territory.Ryan deserves criticism for his play but some folks take it too far and all because fans of the Falcons on the Falcons message board like Ryan? I can't even try to understand that view.

Clearly that type of throw should stick out no?I have not missed a Falcons play in 20 years ...The Brady throw to Deion Branch , Matt Ryan is not capable of making .. There is not 1 of Roddy White highlights that will show the same yardage and low trajectory and arm strength behind that ball . Matt Ryan can throw a ball further but its about the trajectory of it and the zip behind it . Most of Ryan strengths are the 7-14 yards ..Inside post routes . Quick outs and curls he has enough zip to get ball to wr ...On 35-45 low trajectory sideline throw Ryan struggles with . He tends to put tooo much air to overcomepnsate for lack of arm strength

FootballRealist
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y8qCnjaE8bYRyan threw a beautiful deep ball throw at 2: 06 vs Titans and Roddy made **** of a catch ..Ball stood in the air a lil allowed S to make a hit on Ryan but it was a great thrown ball ..If Ryan makes throws like that on a consistent basis and not 1 out of every 8 games then you will never hear any complaints from me ...and nooo its not the same throw Brady threw to Deion Branch ..this pass Ryan threw waas actually longer..which you need a lil more air..This was a beautiful deep throw from Ryan

slick0ne
This is why Matt Ryan will never be a good deep thrower ..It has nothing really do to do with CONSISTENCY ..It has more to do with skill set That was painful to watch the first time...why'd you have to go and show this again. vel
I would not grade Ryan out ahead of Eli ..Also shocked Matt Moore over Romo and StaffordOf course you wouldn't. But arguably the best performance evaluating site available, in case you didn't know they watch every single play of every single player. They have no skin in putting Ryan that high. So regardless of how you feel, the love for Ryan is in fact justified. Yes Brady threw that ball with more heat and it looked better to you. We still get the same 35-40 yards with Ryan throwing it how he throws it. You like style points. They don't impact the scoreboard. All the things you complain about Ryan "lacking", ironically Vick had those things. Mobility, cannon arm, confidence, swagger. Yet, he lacked one thing we Ryan fans and true Falcons fans value most, he wasn't a consistent winner. Didn't accomplish what Ryan has. So keep bltching. Izo#2883
flare- where is the 1 throw that was simimlar to Brady throw to Deion Branch ?There is not a similar throw. I will however point to the two plays at 1:30 and 3:13 coupled with the throws at 2:05 and not least 1:34.If you review those plays and still believe that Matt Ryan cannot make the throw that Brady did, under the same circumstances, we will have to agree to disagree. Is the only reason you like Ryan in spite of Vick. We really need to just cut or trade Ryan. This Vick-Ryan thing is sick. Let's just sign Peyton Manning, win a Super Bowl and have the time of our life.
#1 pick
it's not in an article, it's in their premium stats.regular season only, it goes:1. Brees2. Rodgers[Gap]3. Brady4. Ryan5. Manning6. Rivers[Gap]7. Smith8. Roethlisberger9. Moore10. Romoinclude the post-season and Ryan drops to 5th, Manning goes up to 3rd while Brady drops to 4th.They seems to value game managers. Rai
They seems to value game managers.I'd say the only non-game managers in the NFL are Rodgers, Brady, Brees and the Manning brothers. No other QB can consistently carry their team with their arm and not lose games. But, I suppose each person has their own view on what a game manager is.
